    Squatting Shoes

What kind of shoes do you guys use to squat with? I need to get new sneakers because the Vans I've been using just aren't supporting me when I squat and it's giving me some slight ankle problems. So let's hear it.

you can still get converse all stars, I bought my last pair in 1986!

I know some people who wear wrestling shoes, I use nike frees, but they don't provide much support, almost like being barefoot.

I tried doing squats in a pair of nike 360 and blew out one of the air bubbles in the bottom and they were over $160 but I returned them and they gave me a new pair. Ive also tried to squat in nike shox and that did workout to go either. I use new balance now, nuthing to pop in them. I might have to try some converse

not that it matters for gym shoes, but i find chuck taylors are the ugliest ****in shoe in the history of mankind. i wear a pair of like 1970 newbalance shoes my dad gave me for squats usually, but ide pretty much squat in anything that fit me and was tied tight.

Agreed, they are pretty ugly, but if they give me good support for squatting than I'm happy.

I have seen people take their shoes off to dead and squat.....IN fact, I would be better off doing that....My n balance shoes are worn to shit, might not be good in the first place.

your friend needs to be very careful, i wear tims when i lift for everything but squats, after doing them for about 3 years with boots, I had a mishap and twisted the living shihite out of my ankle, chucks for heavy squats is the only way to go.

To be honest, if the chucks don't feel right either I'm gonna try it barefoot.
