Food definately!! It really is better than steroids, I promise. And why just the upper body, they say 25% of your upper body growth is contained in working your legs out. You could get some protein shakes and kre alkayln (sp?) creatine, those are good supplements to start with. But food is the best way to gain weight. There are no magic pills in this game, sorry..

Yeah but you could take all the test you want and you would blow up like a ballon (a water ballon) and then fall back down when you come off without diet. Sorry but the saying is only half right. Food is the best mass builder out there

And this is where your going wrong. Post what you eat and we can help you and tell you where you possibly are going wrong. Certain foods have certain amino profiles that make you "anabolic". Its physics 101 man. If you eat enough and the right calories you will grow. Everyone responds to food!!! Check out the diet forum. It has so much good info people should pay for it.

if you can't calculate your daily needs, then review how many calories you're taking in complete with a breakdown, then you certainly can't claim you eat enough. the fact is you don't, and you have no idea how much you're missing the mark.
check out fitday.com for a good tool to break down what you eat, and head to the diet forum and review the posts at the top. I know it sounds like a pain in the ass, but I promise you will be glad you did.

what many people fail to realize is the direct relation between diet and mass, quality of diet and quality of mass, etc.
If you woke up tomorrow with 25lbs of instant muscle, you would immediately start to lose it and in a few weeks to a month or more you would be back to your present size.

There is no supplement in the world that is going to force muscle on you!!!. Get it through your head! Your 30 yrs old, what does it take for you to understand what we are saying. I already gave you a list: creatine, protein shakes, beta alanine. But why do you wanna waste all your money without having a diet. I have a friend that is just like you, he wastes all his money on prohormones, creatine, and all kinds of other supplements. You know what he may gain 8lbs on the prohormones but when he comes off he loses all that weight. He has been stuck at 160lb for over 3 years now and has thrown thousands of dollars down the drain.

Supplements are intended to be an addition to a persons diet, not the center piece.

We are not going to sit here and spoon feed you. Do you believe all those ads that say 30lbs in 8 weeks?? You are no where ready for steroids at 30 and only 160. I was 19 at that weight and now at 24 I'm close to 220 without anything illegal. And from the beginning I knew diet was of up most importance. DIET IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OTHER ASPECT OF THE GAME. ITS MORE CRUCIAL THAN YOUR WORKOUT AND DEF. MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY SUPPLEMENT OR DRUG!!!

No, you can add some supplements in like creatine and such, just no steroids yet. Trust me once you get that diet down you'll gain the weight you want and remember to progress your diet as you progress, if your wanting to get bigger and bigger.

The above statment really sums it up.

You MUST look at it this way, regardless of what seems like "a lot" of food to you means absolutly nothing to your body if your weight doesnt change.

If your 160lb's at 5'11 and your body is burning 3300 cals a day you will always be the same weight if your eating 3000 to 3500 thinking its a ton of food.

Now lets say you get your diet in check and figure out you need a GOOD ratio of 3700 cals everyday to gain muscle and put on 15 lbs of lean mass...

Now your feeling good about yourelf 15 lbs heavier the only prob is that you NOW must continune to eat like a 175lb guy or your body will protest and loose it right back off.

This also may mean that if your goal is to walk around at 225lbs ripped and you already have a naturally high metabolism, get ready to eat more food on a daily bases then you prob thought possible... or its right back to where you started.

Diet is make or break bro, one thig you cannot "go without" and meet/maintain your goals...

As for having large legs... Its a good thing if you ask me as were all built differently.
Theres always some high school noob who thinks he's hot stuff cause he's bench pressing sets of 225 next to me while Im working sets of 175. These are the same kids that walk around on those toothpicks they call wheels and look at you cross eyed when you start your routine at the squat rack or dead lift station. Power comes from your legs, I can out squat, and out pull most guys 25-35lbs heavier then I...
Big legs = Good thing imo

you don't have to eat all the time, you do need 6 or 7 good meals a day, and yes of course the bigger you get the more you have to eat.
