Running with weights..... Yey or ney?

I searched the board for this but came up with multiple thread about either running or weights.

My question is, On a treadmill is it worth it to run (jog) with weights. and by that i mean not a serious amount of weights.
Like 15lbs on each hand. Would this help burn calories even more and also work out the muscles.
On the other side is it worth putting the joints in strain if any?

    YES, run with weights.

After a hard workout its great for you body, will help tone up your arms if youre out of shape and if not its still better than running with nothing.

i've heard that if you strap too much weight to your ankles and run, it'll throw off your stride and can be bad....but that's all i got sorry

IMO the idea of running with weights just seems so catabolic. Don't ask me to justify it.

Look into a weighted vest and shorts

No to ankle weights and junk like that. They just pull joints...

I say nay for the single reason that it destroys your joints.

Most of us are already carrying more weight than the one our bodies were designed to carry.

I agree with you your bodies weren't meant to be this big and that is placing alot of stress on our joints...

    Running? I'd advise not.
Stair climbing or walking? I'd say

Thanks guys for all the input. I'm gonna stay away from it. Will try 5lbs while walking though.
