Prescription AAS and UCMJ - ANY JAG OFFICERS?

    Background:

I am an NCO, combat vet, former competitive bodybuilder. It's been about 5 years since I have done a cycle or competed. Several factors have contributed to this; 1) Military Service 2) Injury 3) Fear of the Mexican shit I was using for so long. I have belonged to an organization before, that legitimately prescribed FDA approved US grade gear... which leads to my question...

    Question:

If I were to join an Organization that legally prescribed AAS, would I be subject to UCMJ?

I have a feeling the answer is YES, since the Military laws and regulations seem to supersede everything else in life, but it doesn't hurt to use resources available to do further research. If anyone can provide links to information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

PS. I did do a search prior to posting, but from what I found, an abundance of the posts were about the likely hood of being tested. I am not worried about being tested so much as I am my TRICARE benefits.

with only very few exceptions... Anything givin to you by a perscription, by a licensed provider is ok and you can't be charged. Make sure your command knows about it and the clinic or hospital that has possesion of your medical records has a copy of the perscription if it was givin by an outside provider

Thank you all for taking time to respond.

    Dizz,

I will certainly consider your advice. Thank you very much. I think I will go to JAG and beat around the bush a little and confirm consequences, I'll keep you posted.

    Prone,

Without violating any of the rules established for this forum, all I can tell you is that there are organizations that have a board of Medical Doctors who are extraordinarily liberal when prescribing AAS. These companies aren't going through any loop holes in the law or regulations. They are simply fulfilling all the legal requirements to prescribe medication (IE. You have to have a blood test taken, formal medical review paperwork submitted, etc.). Then they send you the medication. You basically become a patient of "said" Doctor. This is relatively common in the competitive circuit. It is roughly 50-75% more expensive than street prices, and since it is American medication, your selection is limited to FDA approved gear (all the staples though, anyway, Boldenone Undeclynate and Methandrostenolone are the only things I've used that aren't available). It's worth it to me though. This is all the information I can give.

If you saw, he's in the Military. The benifit of the prescription is far more then 50% of a price tag when use without one could mean a Bad Conduct Discharge or Dishonorable discharge severely limiting jobs for the rest of his life. I would go out on a limb and say that recieving a Dishonorable discharge from the military is much worse then having a Felony on your civillian record

To explain a little further from last night...You can't be charged if it's a valid prescription dispensed from a valid pharmacy just as long as you make sure a copy gets in your medical records. It would be wise of you to let your chain of command know well ahead of time so they don't get blind sided by someone telling them you are on it. Marines don't like suprises like that, they don't like not knowing things like that about the people in thier unit (I'm guessing you are a Marine)

though i have never seen anyone get tested for steroids in USMC i am sure it is possible. they normally just do standard tests for drugs such as crack meth weed.... To test for steroids is much more expensive than these tests (which u can buy in walgreens or CVS) but if you get caught the punishments would be the same and the UCMJ will be enforced to the fullest extent of its power. (just as if you were caught with cocain in your system) So yes, if you can get a script that would be ideal. otherwise dont risk it.

BTW if you have had an honorable discharge and reenlisted and got a dishonorable discharge you still can get some benefits.

I know plenty of my friends who have been tested for test who are in the USMC and the like. Most of my buddies who are in and ON use SUSP. To avoid detection...Sufficely to say I will not pinpoint the unit but lets just say OUR boys overseas that Deal with Artillery Shells are protecting our BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY by being in the best physical condition they can be in.... Those shells can get heavy... it's like doing DEADS all day long... GOD BLESS THE US OF A ... and to anyone on the Board that is in the US Military...

THANK YOU VERY MUCH !! THANK YOU !!!

Well, regardless... A lot of good that 4 year degree will do you when you try to get a job and they find out you were in the Military and ask to see your discharge papers...
