The past couple years I have always has some whey prior to my workouts, because I'm sure we've all read before how it is good to have the amino acids available during training; however, the more I learn about diet and the better mine gets I will come across a question I need help with, I have 2:
1) If I am eating a sh^t-ton of food all day, all diff types being absorbed at diff rates, is it really necessary for me to have this pre-workout shake or are the proteins from the food enough? I usually consume about 400g of protein a day from a variety of sources (dairy/beef/chicken/turkey/fish)
2) When I am logging my macros for the day as of late I have been excluding the protein from the shakes I take. Typically I have one as soon as I wake up and 1 pre-workout and 1 PWO. Also a casein prior to bed. I know it doesn't compare to food, but I used to log it in as protein intake. I've always felt it's f^cking BS though. My question is, Is it good practice to exclude the protein from shakes in my log or should I be including them?
