Ok so here's the deal, I have applications in with the state & federal prisons here in colorado as well with the state patrol.
I have already passed all my testing for the state and am ready to be hired on however due to my military background they need a "member 4" copy of my dd214... All I have is a member 1.
I have tried and tried and tried, putting in requests with the vet-recs (where you get your dd214 from the national personal records database or whatever they're called). I have tried paying this one company called "touchstone" which they are as lame as could be. I've tried my local VA office which the lady only went about doing what I already did with the vet-recs online...
I contacted my old platoon sgt and he didn't even think I'd have one nor did the VA lady, she said I wouldn't probably get one untill I've completed my 8 year contract which expires in 2014 even though I'm currently inactive-ready-reserves...
Well I told this to the lady at the backgrounds unit the one who said that if I don't get her my dd214 member 4 copy that she's just going to completely close my application on January 6thShe told me she was military and had her dd214 when she went inactive-ready reserves so that I must have one....
Does anyone know anything I might do? Some way around this or a way to obtain this perhaps?
I really wish I had contact to the higher ups in my chain of command but all my old sgt's have moved on to different batallions and know nothing of my old 400th MP BN
