High Creatinine & BUN on Blood Test

Anyone have any input as to why these numbers are elevated?

    Any link to testosterone usage?

    Creatinine 1.33 mg/dl range : .7-1.2
    BUN 20 mg/dl range : 7-20

    Thanks

I always suffer with elevated creatinine.

    Check your BP.

A diet high in red meat may cause issues, also creatine supplementation.

Yeah deffinately your kidneys. I had Major issues with high creatinine due to renal failure years back following a snowboarding accident. No fun, definately monitor this. It started as back pain and a couple nights later I awoke in full on convulsions. I had broken a couple vertabrae so I thought the increasing lower back pain was due to the vertabrae, but no, it was my kidneys failing. Not to freak you out but just sharing my experience.

I eat 200-240g of protein a day. I am 185 12-14% b/f. No creatine or red meat consumption.

Any other input or people with high creatinine levels?

I have high creatine levels but my doctor isnt concern because he states people who carry large amounts of muscle will have higher levels anyway. Bodybuilders are known to have higher than normal levels.

I take .5mg eod of Arimidex with my 200mg of test per week for HRT. I dont take any other medicines.

When I researched kidney function and I do have other symptoms however I have also read that "people with higher amounts of muscle" will have high creatinine or high eGFR. Also my eGFR is above the 60. I dont have high BP ever.

How do your testosterone values look like?

Look at it this way. If you take 200mg test a week, your test could be around 200% baseline, so creatine being 10% over baseline should not be alarming.

It's probably just from the increased muscle mass and protein intake.

Also a sign of being dehydrated, how is your water consumption? Your egfr takes ones age into account. Once a person hits 50, the numbers change steeply.

Drink more water will help keep your kidneys from problems with those issues.
