    Creatine Debate

Some say you should take you creatine pre-workout. Others say take it post-workout? -OR- Does it really matter at all (just as long as your supplementing it with your workout)?

I've personally used to take it after workouts with glutamine because i was told by a trainer it absorbs faster. Maybe someone else here has better knowledge

It does not say on the label..... I take creatine by Body Tech that I got from Vitamin Shoppe. I've heard both pre and post. Thought I would ask on this forum. The guys on this site seem to be very knowledgable.

This has been discussed before and I think the consensus was you can take it pre or post workout. The main goal w/ supplementing w/ creatine is replenishing or filling creatine levels in which ATP replenishment happens quicker during your workout. So one could take creatine right after a workout and replenish these levels or one could take it before training and achieve the same goal. I personally take a small amount of creatine (~2.5g) before and after workouts.

I'm really not sure if it makes that much of a difference?

I have been taking mine post workout. I might split the serving in half though, and take it pre and post. Just to switch things up a bit.

I've done both - always natural though. I never felt it lived up to the hype, no matter how I took it.
I wonder if results will be better while juiced??

on my bottle it says post workout, do it for both, you cant be wrong. also i heard that mixing it with a juice (that contains sugar) helps to absorb it faster and better.

Yeah switch it up and see what you think. I have found that I don't hold as much water when I split the dose up.

I think it is played out way more than it really is in the advertisements. It definitely has given me a better pump and that extra effort to put up 1-2 more reps. Sometimes even more. Other than that, don't believe everything they tell you. Take it with a grain of salt.

Although, the bloating is real LOL

i dont think it matters at all when you take it. yesterdays creatine is what will benefit you today. Once you're saturated, you're saturated. Just take 5g everyday and you'll stay saturated.

Today was the first day I implemented doing it half before and half after. I felt no difference, although I did feel slightly amped while lifting. Could just be the placebo effect. Who knows. Time will tell.

I take mine after workouts when your body absorbs everything like a sponge.

I have always responded to creatine and I have always taken it Pre and Post workout. I wouldn't do it that way if I didn't think it was the best way!

Take your Creatine straight after your workout when your muscles are going to be active like a sponge
Add glucose powder or waxy maize to your creatine shake for a greater insulin spike

i just stopped creatine 2 weeks ago. i been on it for 6 months. And i did not notice any strength loss when comming off it or any effects really with creatine except water retention... i am getting stronger at the same rate as i am when i was on with creatine.. i was taking 5G postworkout... i dont know why but creatine doesnt improve
    anything with my body...

creatine made me thirsty, and retained water. thats about it. no extra strength boost or faster gainers from my experience.. maybe i wasnt drinking enough water? i was drinking 3 litters of water a day. (about 2 cups short of a gallon) and i am 170 pounds... maybe i needed to drink more water to see results with creatine? because i saw nothing!

That has been precisely my experience as well, Twin.
What I'm wondering though is whether that will change when I'm on cycle. Everything happens much faster -fat loss, strength improvements, not to mention the lean gains - when on cycle, I wonder if Creatine will help also, where it hasn't before??

I take Beast nutrition's Creature(creatine). It's a blend of 4 different types of creatine. I take 5g pre and 5 grams post. MAKE SURE YOU EAT CARBS with your creatine or else youre just gonna be pissing it out. I was taking crea monohydrate for abotu 2 years and switched to this stuff a month ago. Seems alright

I think I'm going to put a daily dose in with the gallon of water I drink daily mixed with Crystal-Lite when I start my next cycle. Seems like an easy way to keep it in my system. Anxious to see if it will boost gains along with my cycle.
