My Test levels ? help interpreting test results

Hi guys, I've just had a blood test and the results I got were:

    17.4 nmol/L total testosterone and
    246pmol/L calculated free testosterone,
sex hormone binding globulin 59 nmol/L

I was told the calculated free testosterone is the most relevant figure and that mine was in the low low range of normal. Is this preventing me from making gains?
I have been working out on and off since i was 18(I am now 26) more seriously in the last couple years I had a break for a couple months last year and I've been noticing I have low sex drive perhaps low energy levels also. this is why i asked for a blood test. Can someone tell me if this is affecting my ability to make gains? sorry if i've posted this in the wrong thread didn't really know which one to post in.

any helpful comments would be much appreciated. thanks

Well it looks like you have your free and total test mixed up, Your free is 17.4 and total is 246. These are both low numbers, shbg is a bit high, you also need to look at estrogen.

If I had T numbers like that I would speak to an endo, your numbers fit the typical range for repla***ent therapy but there is more to look at then just a couple of numbers, which can be different everyday, or even times of day. These along with symptoms, your overal health, and looking at any medications you are taking may be a better option to figure out what is causing low T and the best way to treat it.

thanks for the reply but I typed the figures straight from the printout i got from the doc.. didn't mix them up. He said it wasn't low enough for repla***ent therapy
    17.4 the normal range was 8 - 32 thereabouts. 246 the range was 220 - 700~

what about other aspects of your lifestyle? are you eating right? are you sleeping enough? vitamins and supplements? any stress from work or family?

low sex-drive and low energy are rather non-specific. they could be due to other reasons, not just andropause

Lol. Well just so you know, it's a mix up, not that it matters, but total ranges from ~ 300-900 ng/dl

I googled it, I think the reason is pmol/L is a different measurement to ng/dl i dunno how to convert it into ng/dl coz i dont kno the molecular weight nd i dno shit abt chemistry but yeah I'm in australia if that makse a difference maybe they use different measurements here.
