Does TRT cause baldness

Quick question guys, will being on TRT caise baldness? I was told this by a friend when I told them I was on TRT and did noy know if this was a side or not.

Not directly. If your prone to lose hair, your prone to lose hair. TRT, especially transdermals, can elevate DHT levels. The majority of Test turns into DHT everywhere in the body except muscle via the 5 Alpha Reductase Enzyme. 5AR tends to have a high concentration in the scalp, therefore if your prone to it this could exacerbate it. On your next bloodwork get your DHT level tested so you have a baseline. Proper BW can be found in the stickies.

Hair still on my head and everywhere else!!

I started re-growing hair on my body and scalp while I was on test-cyp, but started losing hair on my head shortly after switching to Androgel, which is known to increase DHT. Had my DHT levels checked a week ago because I'm not trying to go bald. Will definitely switch back to injections if results are high.

DaRoq my dht level was around 140 on agel. Way above scale. Started injections it dropped down to 75 in a month. Couple months later tested at 81.

Anyone know why gel does this? Is it because it is SQ? Does that mean a SQ injection would do the same? Just asking because I was thinking of changing from a 22 gauge 1.5 needle to a 25g 5/8 needle for thigh shots.

that 22, 1.5 is very manly! I'm now pinning sq w/ a 30,1/2, even used a 31, 5/16 once or twice..

I believe its conversion of test to dht in the skin cells that u don't get with I'm or sq. how do u guys have the patience to wait for the injection times with such a small gauge needle. I just started using 25 gauge and feel like that thing is in me forever.

now if i can swap place between my head and my ass I'll end up with full head of hair. LOL! on a serious note, i just checked for dht for the first time and been on injections only, still waiting for results, but i had a bold spot and thin hair to begin with, and i shave it all anyway. so thinning hair is no longer a concern for me.
