Hi, I have been working out for over 3 years. Have gone from 150lbs 5'11 at 13.5" Arms 12%BF, to 230lbs 5'11 19" Arms Pumped at 18%BF or so (can still make out abs). I would like to cut around 15lbs of fat. This will be my 3rd cut.
I was planning on using A-A-S soon, within the next year or two. After doing research it appears that nearly every forum is sold on the beginner cyc-le of 500-m-g of Te-st for 12-wks. However, I've looked in a few books, asked some very knowledgeable people. And have heard that starting small to "te-st the waters" so to speak is the general advice given. Nelson Montana from Bottom Line Bodybuilding book suggests cy-cles of no longer than 3 weeks. Pros like Larry Scott would take something like 10-m-g of DBOL pre-contest. I have seen videos of an upcoming Pro who said a Nat-urals first cy-cle should be something small, like a 3 week cy-cle of Winn-strol or a similar P-H, to t-est the waters. Following that should be Pr-imo. Then later Test.
The general outlook of all these guys that say otherwise is that.
1) Running a brief 3 week cy-cle is less supp-ressive and less harmful.
2) A beginner should start small and work his way up.
3) Getting the recep-tors used to a strong comp-ound like Test right away is why so many pro's peak early.
4) Less P-C-T/If any P-C-T on a 3 week cy-cle
5) Small gains (5-10lbs) you will keep most, if not all of
6) If your body reacts badly to an or-al it will leave your body within hours, Injec-table Te-st however you'll be stuck with the sides for 2 weeks.
Im still trying to figure out the best option for a first timer. Whether it be a P-H/Or-al for 3 weeks. Prim-obolan. Or Te-st. Although I know for me going from 100-% Na-tural to a 12 week cy-cle seems like a giant leap. Right now, I just need a little push, and a short brief cy-cle, with little chance of sides or supp-ressing, that could add 5-10lbs of solid mass to my frame would be perfect.
Basically I am wondering your thoughts on this argument. And if anyone has any advice on maybe something small I could take on this cut or even next bulk to add a few lbs/maintain muscle on a cut.
