TRT solely for treating depression and sexual dysfunction

This pretty much why I started TRT, pretty stupid but I was desperate and had exhausted every other form of treatment over the past 14 years, its depression which killed of my libido in the first place, I read posts here like TRT will have you feeling like your on top of the world again and depression will be a thing of the past so I tried it, so yeah it worked great for a while but as Vette told me the first couple of weeks is a rush of dopamine and a huge surge of libido, both of which have trailed off and I'm just back to depression which given my high test level and having my E2 in range means its not probably hormone related, do I stick with this and try to make it work or get off it and try to restart my system?

are there any reasons you want to go off of TRT? if there are legit reasons (fertility, being reliant on Rx drugs, etc) then you would want to really weigh this out.

otherwise, if you were depressed then I would seriously consider staying on TRT and working through your mental issues and not have to worry about your T in the first place. and please keep in mind, TRT does not effect everyone the same way. I would wager to say that for most people it is gradual and hard to notice. those peoples' stories stick out less than the people who went on TRT and were "born again" in a matter of 2-4 weeks. I do not believe that is the norm from what I read in medical literature and from some of the docs I spoke to.

I'm asking nicely that you don't get into this habit. More so for you sake, as you're just going to end up turning away many of the senior members, who really need to be involved with your situation.

Not saying that new threads shouldn't be created, as we encourage them. However, if I were to start a thread about my personal situation with TRT, I'm not going keep creating new threads that are basically related to my own personal program. The exception might be a follow up thread at a latter date that would offer a recap, then the final outcome entailing the results, or lack thereof. Even then, I would still probably look at pulling up the old thread, since all the recap information would already be posted.

Also, I don't recall of the "first couple of weeks" statement that you're mentioned came from me (unless it was another Vette?) Not saying the statement is wrong or right, I don't know all the details, but just saying there might be another member deserving the credit on that statement. IMO, if one can achieve getting their hormones; both upstream and downstream balanced, there is a good chance that their libido situation will be enhanced. On top of that, I add a little Cialis and Doxazosin (better known as a gdevine cocktail), which contributes to the enhan***ent. HCG obviously keeps the rodeo going too (inside for jpk).

Ed, we're on your side, we're here to help, but please follow our queue with helping you get the most out of this forum. I definitely believe you need a good doctor, which has been suggested several times over on the other threads too. Find happiness my friend!

if trt is needed then stay on and get with a counselor it helps to get shiat off your chest/i hope that nobody led you to believe that depression isnt serious and/or that trt is the cure all for everything....some depression has to be dealt with in different ways just like most ppl's trt protocol isnt the same

Total T: 29.5 nmol/l
Free test : 2.17% nmo/l
Bio available: 55.4% nmol/l
FSH:2.8 mIU/ml
LH:2.9 mIU/ml
Prolcatin: 9.9 ng/ml
SHBC: 34.10 nmol/l

There is still much missing here to fully understand your situation.

You may have Testosterone in check but there are a host of other hormones, including and more importantly, your Thyroid panels!!!

I would also like to see Cortisol as well.

What was your E2 assay?

You comment that this is not a hormone related condition is simply not the truth yet.

BTW Vette; that 5mg Cialis + 2mg Doxazosin (both 2X daily - every 12 hours ) + .25mg Cabergoline twice a week and not only are my erections like a teenager again (excellent morning erections almost every day now) but libido has increased was well with the low dose caber!!!

Now that's a Cocktail for sure...no pun intended

l titled the thread as as a topic of disscusion for people who dont actualy lift weights but ended up making it about me once again which I apologise for. The support and expertise from yee guys is enormous and I hope not to alienate myself any further with my idiot posting. Iv been looking alot into welburtin, its a dopamine agonist as opposed to the SSRI's ( seratonin) iv been prescribed in the past, asked my psych doc last week was there a med that directly increases dopamine and he said no, just goes to show most doctors are assholes who put there ego before your own health and that you have to be in active participant in your own recovery.

Look into Cabergoline (Dostinex and Cabaser) which is a very powerful Dopamine agonist and well tolerated at low doses.

I take .25mg twice a week and not only feel well but sometimes increased libido to the point where I can't stand it LOL!

it can be mind blowing to see just how ego-driven many docs are. I am tempted to say that the majority of docs let their ego influence patient care more than the patient would like.

but hey, that's why we are in America and we can move on to a new doc. just try to do as much research as you can beforehand so you don't waste more energy and time. I've been there

GD cheers for the info on carber going to suggest it as an alternative to Welbutrin which is also supposed to increase libido, seems to be the case that sexual desire is pretty much just linked to dopamine which makes sense, will be difficult to do given it's doesn't seem to be prescribed as an anti depressant, got to say right now my third time applying the Tostran I'm no longer experiencing any allergy's and feeling a hell of a lot better, its hard to experience the benefits of TRT when your face is swollen and your running a fever.

HRT I couldn't agree more, think its because were brought up with the idea that doctors know best but now with the net we can research and find solutions for ourselves, funnily enough the same Pysch Doc who claimed there was no such thing as a dopamine agonist told me to stop searching the internet for answers, if it wasn't for the net I would never have known of there existence.

F:@k my ball's, I'm just gunna take a minute here to vent, TRT as allowed me to experience what it's like to not be depressed, honestly after 14 years It's given me motivation to actually want to get better, before I simply didn't care if I ever woke up again, past 5 months everyday I wake up my only focus is to get my health and my well being intact and it's a constant battle of something or someone getting in the way of my progress, I went to a well being clinic and got screwed, the 5 months Iv been on TRT I feel better but Iv been allergic to the gel this whole time and right now my face and naval passages are swollen and I find it hard to even breath, can't get prescribed shots and the the only GP who will gives me prescriptions stopped showing up for work because he is an alcoholic so I can't get a hold of either patch's or oral tablets, from my experience of TRT the most beneficial aspect for me as been an increase of feel good chemicals which I'm assuming is dopamine, went to my GP today to try and get prescribed Welbutrin and he says no he would prefer If my psych doc prescribes this cuz he supposed to be the expert on mental health but isn't even aware that dopamine agonists exist so that's another 50 bucks wasted and takes weeks to get an appointment with my phsyc doc, I tried to buy carbergoline online today and they don't ship to my country, it's just never ending, the first couple of weeks of the dopamine rush allowed me to experience pleasure again more specifically sexual desire which should just be a given, I'm not even ashamed to admit that I'm a 29 year old handsome as **** virgin, I was invited into a 3sum last summer and whatever I was supposed to be feeling was completely alien to me, I'm incapable of experiencing pleasure which at this stage I'm convinced is down to a chemical imbalance which is why I put my confidence in my GP and my psych doc to figure out over the past 8 years, ****, I really dunno, the hanging in there game can only continue so long, I am drunk and will most likely regret this tomorrow but I'm gunna hit the post quick replay button anyways.

when im off trt im soo depressed. when im on i feel great. I don't wanna live if i couldn't get trt anymore. I've had depressions issues in the past and trt fixed it. i really discovered who i was when i was on trt for about a year. hope this helps

Any form of supportive advice helps so yes thank you, tell me about it HRT, I'm on it but the allergy is killing me right now, I stopped for two weeks to get a new brand which didnt make a difference and the depression was hell which is something Iv become to accustomed for years.
