    Got diagnosed with Hasimoto's today

So I got my 2nd round of bw back with antibody test and they confirmed I have Hasimotos. My tsh levels are down from the last test but I haven't really noticed any difference in the 50 mcg I was on. They upped the dosage to 88 and I will retest in 3-4 months. Sucks to get news like this but at least I know the cause and am treating it.

hmm your antibody values are worse than mine. What are you taking 50mcg of? I think upping the dose is good, your values look good, but could be better.

what did your thyroid look like before treatment? Might want to check how I lowered my TSH and increased T3 without thyroid meds in the other thread on this page, something to possibly consider.

I know you are worried about whether it will help you or not, but have you done panels for testosterone and other endocrine functions? Also there might be some merit in improving your thyroid without meds to consider. I've heard a lot of controversy in men when there thyroid is only mildly out of wack, in some cases a lot of people don't see improvement unless they are way off. I'm still figuring myself out so I can't give you concrete personal experience because it's still a process.

For some people synthroid works, at least for a while. But many on it continue to have hypothyroid symptoms even though they may have some relief. All desiccated thyroid products contains all the components of thyroid (T4, T3, T2, T1 and calitonin) as opposed to only T4. You can get a lot of good info from that site.

I've heard much better things about the older version of armor thyroid, and on that site it talks about the different versions and generics that make something similar to the old version.
