    Crohn's, IBD, UC, digestive Thread-

    Looking to gather resources & knowledge from other members who may have;

Crohn's Disease, (IBD) Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and/or other digestive issues.

I have read every thread I could find & information is so sprawled out that it's difficult to read. Let alone keep conversation & actual results of what others have done/tried before.

I personally have Crohn's & anyone who has any of the above will know that it can be hard to diagnose, is miserable to live with during flares & can have a severe impact on nutrition for those who are into body building (BB). I'm interested in all aspects of digestive disease/problems associated with the use of testosterone & AAS. To inlude preperations for cycling to using AI's & proper PCT & if/how the effects of such gear will effect you.

Example: NSAIDS are not my friend, I will take some depending on the severity of a headache, but otherwise avoid them like the plague. I'm also currently on Humira & I'm curious if any other members have been on this (injectable) medication while cycling. I am a "doctor on board" type of person but the knowledge & first hand experience of others is important.

Nutrition: Anything a member can add that helps out in ways to safely bulk, cut, & maintain would be great.

I'd like to hear how others have worked on body building (BB) & dealt with controlling either the disease/issue itself or the symptoms. Tips, tricks, & any information on gear that helps would be great. I've read (but don't remember at this time) that some gear is beneficial to Digestive problems & really helps the symptoms. I'm sure many have had to cut a cycle short due to issues, or had some & found a way to overcome.

So, any & all information & conversation is welcome. I put this in nutritional I'm sure the topic will become prevalent, but like to see where it goes regardless. If it needs moving I'm sure the Mods can help.

    Hope to hear more, thx

There are plenty of people with GI diseases in our sports. One of my favorite powerlifters and sources of information is a guy Clint Darden who has UC. Everyone is a little different... Do you log your food? You should. In that log keep notes on your health as well. Sometimes you'll see patterns emerge. Thats how I discovered my arch enemy. The carrot. My girl has IBS-C can't touch almonds or twizzlers...

Its tough, you'll see some setbacks. There is just no avoiding it. Its your cross to bear.

Ever run GH? Supposedly it helps with UC.

First, the log/journal, yes! for the last 3 months I've started logging everything. Even my workouts. I didn't for the last 6 years & recently had a flare that I thought was going to end me! Now I'm taking this more seriously & being cautious.

I havent tried GH & believe that was the one I read about in another thread that appears beneficial. I have to step away for a bit, but I'll be back. I even started taking pictures about 3 months ago to be able to check my body composition every 30 days & I'm now realizing how tuff & long it takes to gain ground with digestive issues.

Are you put on prednisone a lot? That can cause some osteoporosis issues. I wasn't aware of that side effect. Always just thought it was all about liver toxicity.

Anyway, check out that guy clint darden on the youtubes or on facebook. He's a good guy, responds to things and he gives great beard advice.

Thanks & will do. As for Prednisone, that's a no. I started Prednisone a few years ago & only lasted about a week & for some reasons the side effects were making things worse. Not to mention I've had over twenty (major) surgeries & the prednisone was oddly effecting my joints. I was almost in total body pain when on that stuff...

Scary, the wife just got her letter saying to look out for meningitis symptoms from her steroid injection from a neck procedure. I heard the death count is above 100 now. I had meningitis (& pneumonia) in 2005 & barely survived. A life flight to the infectious disease center saved me. Well, "technically" I died twice, but..... Still here

i suggest the following book. may have to order, but i found it on the shelves in paper back a few years back. Breaking the Vicious Cycle subtitle: Intestinal Health Through Diet by Elaine Gottschall. it is a diet for Chrohn's , UC, diverticulitis, celiac. it is a pratical guide and includes elimination and reintroduction of certain foods.

also, become familar with kefir. i make mine and have had a healthier digestive track. Both of these resources where passed onto me by OP who nearly died of Chrohn. kefir and this book saved her life.

hope you find these useful. i have

Thanks, I've already looked up the book & I'll probably pick it up next trip into town (B&N). I've talked w/ my doc about running my first cycle (both docs on board now), & since its basically test e they will have my blood work done prior. As for Aromasin, clomid, Nolva, interacting with Humira I was told it should be symptom free. They want me to wait another 2 months before starting as they have been tracking my logs for a long time. The main goal is they want me flare free & under control.

We still have another appt. set to talk just about stuff like Letro & ralox, the other few "gynorific" stopper drugs I have on hand just in case. All basis must be covered & I'm doing more research on HCG as I'd like to be on that as well.
