    I'm ready.

We been talking about it for years and we are finally ready to adopt!! I am excited and nervous at the same time. I know some of you guys have mentioned you worked in the field of adoption/foster care and maybe you can just give me a heads up on the process and how things go. I know there are many different adoption methods and we have a meeting with out adoption agent this weekend to discuss everything. I have about 1000 questions I want to ask but I am sure that is normal in the beginning.

Holy cow your finally going to do it. Is Hazard going to be the God Father? I need to find a mate first, that doesn't need a shrink, before I can even think about something that intense and serious and responsible as to raising a child.

Decided against it. We wanted to keep the open area to make house gatherings more comfortable.

As long as you dont swap him for an Ipod Touch (U2 Edition) while visiting the Middle Earth..... Lol, J/k bro, congrats that is truly awesome.....I think adopting is great, there are so many unfit parents in this world, and especially in the area that you and I reside in, that I think its a really noble thing to do, as you can give some kid a brighter future then just falling through the cracks. Good luck bro...

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't try if they couldn't!!! I'm sure you didn't mean to come across this way but your post reads a little bigoted.

DSM, good luck mate. What age group are you looking at adopting?

Nope most agency's advertise "same sex adoption." They do this because I believe there are different laws for same sex couples

Sorry if i offended im from a country town i dont no much about gays and there rights.

    Good luck tho mate..

I had 2 abortions last year with 2 diffrent birds sort of makes me feel bad now. Knowing you want a kid and all.

Have you thought about trying to get a women pregnant and maybe get her to help you out so that way the kid will be yours? Ive seen it on tv were gay people get a female friend to carry there baby then they give it to them when its born. Just a thought bro.

It is a very long process(as it should be).

and imho: nobody is ever truely ready to become a parent. Some are just better equipped for the task than others. At best you should be confident and scared to death at the same time.

    Best of luck!

Kids change everything and I mean everything. No more free me time no more me at all actually.
That being said there is nothing better than having a child. They are so innocent and loving.
When they look up at you it will melt your heart. I can't imagine my life without my son now.
Go be daddys. And enjoy every minute of it.

Having a baby is almost like having a dog. Except that it's the baby throwing a toy and daddy goes fetch.

At least, with a dog, you can kick him out to the yard when you're mad...
