How much should I charge people if I'm not a certified Personal Trainer

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently taking classes to get my certification in Personal Training. I currently have clients now who know I'm not certified, but I do have my CPR & First Aid certs, & I have my Fitness instructor's liability insurance. My struggle has been whether to charge anywhere between $10-$25 per hour as a non-certified Personal Trainer. I need some professional advice.

Welcome - What you charge is gonna have more to do with your demographic, your speciality, and you more than a certification.

I agree with slfmade your rate well have more to do with your demographic, your specialty, and your years of experience more than a certification. You should always check with gym your training in even after you get certified. Most places look down on people training others without their permission. I have actually heard of gyms banning people for life for training without their permission. Once that happens and word gets out its hard to get gym membership.

As much as your clientele is wiling to pay based on you personally. The world is full of 'professionals' who aren't worth the paper their certification is printed on. Its also full of people who don't have papers but let their experience do the negotiating. charge what you feel youre worth.
