Thread: Considering Florida

    Considering Florida

I just recently graduated from Michigan, and I've been interning for a few local businesses in Ann Arbor.

I've been in contact with a 'higher up' at Disneyworld, a brother of my high school Physics teacher. I've only been to Florida and the parks once (over a one-week period, 5 times). Put simply I was pretty set on moving there.

He offered me a position in the managerial staff to build up a resume. I like the parks, a friend of mine who also graduated is working there in the same department and loves it, Florida seemed more for me than the Northern states, and I'm looking into a future in business administration.

Any residents of Florida that might have insight on the greater Orlando area? Anything I should consider before making plans to move? I won't be going until next year if I do decide.

You know your state is bad when you're willing to move just because of the winter. I like the Michigan wilderness, and we have a rich history, but call me a 'wimp' because I definitely wasn't made to live with snow hahah.

Florida is way too hot for me...... I have family there and have vacationed there over the past 20 years consistently. As much as I hate the cold in jersey..... I'd rather deal with that then the heat.

I'm a wreck as it is in the jersey summer...... ESPECIALLY on tren lol

You could go hang out with Redz and find yourself a rich wife over there.

    Better?

I guess I should have been more clear, but recently heard Clark Howard mention that because the state got involved with insurance, they prevented insurance companies from charging the fees they did. So the insurance companies are dropping their customers all over. Now, I'm pretty sure this is in any flood-zoned areas. I'll try to find the podcast.

Too late. Home insurance is a mess, but the biggest screwjob living here - hurricane season. Trust me, it blows.
