Armpit lump

Merry Christmas everyone!

So, I noticed a limo under my right armpit today. It's internal as it doesn't show outside but you feel a lump under the skin. I've gotten staph under my left armpit and had surgery to remove it before. But this doesn't hurt nor does it looked infected. It's painless.

Just curious if anyone has had them and what it could be

I have one right now as well. Going to call the doctor tomorrow. Could be anything really and like you said could be an infection. I know a couple people that got an infection from their underarm antiperspirants. It blocks the sweat glands.

I've gotten them before. Had nothing to do with TRT. Dunno what actually caused it but it just went away.

It could be a lipoma (basically a little localised blob of fat that is not dangerous - some people are more prone to them than others, they are permanent and need to be removed if they bother you), it can also be the result of a viral infection (and so it would go away in time) or it may be a cyst (these tend to not be fixed to underlying tissue, and so you can sort of wiggle them around). As LT75 said, sometimes antiperspirants can cause blocked hair follicles or sweat glands. It could also be a swollen lymph node from you fighting off a recent infection.

Very rarely, these lumps can be signs of something more worrying. Just to reassure yourself, you should get a doc to have a look and feel, if it doesn't appear to be going away soon.

From my experience, TRT brings back some of the conditions that went along with adolescence, ie. acne, strong body odor. I remember getting lumps in my armpits in my early teens and I felt it was related to deodorant use and also my changing body. And, BTW, antiperspirants are the worst thing you can use. Besides being very unhealthy, when they close up the pores in the armpits, the perspiration must be released from other areas of your body. You'll discover sweat glands in places you never knew you had!

In my case, TRT definitely brought on some slight acne for me - and I'm 66!

Thx 2Sox! As well to a big thanks to angel for that wealth of knowledge. I appreciate it. Just going to run the course and experiment with some different deodorant a that are not anti- persp as well. Hoping it's just a folliculitis of some sort.

Yes, what 2sox is very valid, you might well be stimulating your body to sweat more, and of course to produce more sebum, and then make it more prone to blocked oil or sweat glands than it would otherwise be. I just wanted to let you know there are lots of potential causes and to be aware of the more serious case in case it didn't go away.

Couldn't it be an enlarged lymph node?

what's concerning is the no pain. I'd take the advice above and have a doc look at it. better be safe than sorry.
