    Insulin resistance ??????

    Hello there,

So I have been on insulin for two weeks now. It is my first time trying it. I use Humalog insulin. I have started with 4 units post workout and as I started I used the recommended 10 gr of carbs (dextrose) per unit of insulin + 50 gr of protein in a shake 15 minutes after the injection. I followed one hour after with a carbs + protein meal (without any fat as recommended).

Currently I am using 30 units post workout with a shaker of only 50 gr of dextrose (which is quite low in regards to the recommended amount) and I feel nothing! No hypo! I have the impression that I could cope with the injection and only have a shake composed of proteins and no carbs and just do fine. I although have to mention that I have the impression that my muscles are fuller and that I might have more strength in the gym but it is hard to tell if it is due to insulin. I’m 5ft8 and 231 lbs. I’m currently bulking (eating around 5000 calories a day with around 650 gr of carbs) and on a tren A, test P, Masteron cycle. My question is therefore if this is normal or if it might be possible that I’m insulin resistant? What do you guys think?

    Thanks for the help!

Do you not have a glucometer?
There is no way you're pinning 30 IU of humalog without going hypo, so your stuff is obviously bunk. Did you get it from a pharmacy?

I'm hoping you dont kill yourself of end up a diabetic.

You are 26, 5ft8 and 231 lbs. Why are you bulking? I cant imagine your body fat being under 30%

    Hello guys, so

Bonaparte: I do not use a glucometer and the insulin does not come from a pharmacy. I thought the same that the product I got might be fake or the dosage altered like weaker because I agree that the amounts I used are quite high.

lovbyts: Dude I have started lifting when I was 14 and my goal is to be as huge as possible. My current bodyfat is 16% but that is not really the topic.

An update to my first post: So today I used 40 units post-workout with only a protein shake (50gr of Whey isolat, 10gr BCAAs, 10gr Creatine, 10gr Glutamine and no glucose) for once I had a hypo 45 mins after but since I wasn't expecting it I had to go for a coke to stop it.
I followed with my fat free meal (only carbs and proteins). Short time after I had a new hypo.
As for what I have therefore experienced so far I would conclude that either the product has been altered so the dosage is weaker or I am kind of insulin resistant to a certain point since 40 units is a quite high amount for needing it to have a hypo (Before I started the insulin cycle I used to take a dextrose shake after my workouts in order to get and insulin peak. Is it possible that this might have made me resistant at least temporary?).

Thanks for any further thoughts and comments !
