    Soda for Insulin spike?

I have a very vague understanding of how or what an insulin spike does so please forgive me if this is completely idiotic. From what I understand, an insulin spike is created by simple carbohydrates. And this spike helps with nutrient absorption. Would drinking a soda with a meal rich in protein and other nutrients be somewhat beneficial because it would cause an insulin spike and allow the body to absorb more nutrients?

If you are wanting this spike to be large enough to promote muscle growth then NO it won't be large enough, a soda won't even be a drop in the ocean
