L-carnitine gut bacteria coversion to TMAO and atherosclerosis link?

L-carnitine is a supplement I normally take. Recently Ive read conflicting research about its benefits and possible negative conversion in the gut by bacteria.

    I take a combination Acetyl-L-Carnitine/ Alpha-Lipoic Acid combination tablet.

Should I stop taking this? Opinions.

    -Cheers

While you're reading research material, take a gander at this...
