Swelling and redness after injection means either:
a)Gear is contaminated, or you contaminated the area/needle/syringe/whatever creating a infection. Fever is another dead giveaway.
b)Your body is reacting to the gear because its not used to it, or you are allergic to any of the contents.
c)The gear is poorly produced (too much BA, acidic, etc)
d)You are not injecting deep enough
1. Fever and increasing redness. Lumps are usually from not going deep enough, redness is more a immune system reaction.
2. You can massage it lightly. But IM injections are not supposed to be massaged, it will speed the ester release, so with slow esters it shouldn't be done, short esters maybe its not really a problem. If there's infection it will hurt a lot massaging it, and can spread.
