    I know...

14 bullets to bring down a man with a knife who is 6' away.
    Savages.

I had a kid come after me with a knife in college.
    I didn't have a gun.
I came out with a scratch.

As far as the people in the video above...
The vast majority of them were protesting.
    Yes some were rioting.

But I wouldn't call them all "fucking animals".

As far as the rioters gone..
    Lock 'em up.

As far as the protestors go...
They are practicing their First Amendment right.
Hell, that is the Amendment that is right before the Holy and Worshipped 2nd Amendment.
Protesting is also the part of the quiz that our newly elected Supreme Court Justice failed.

    And SampsonandDelilah...
I am in no way asserting that you are calling all of them animals.
I know you are a good man.
I am simply voicing my displeasure with nobody acknowledging where all this anger is coming from.
Sure, the Police have every right to defend themselves but at some point we have to question to what extent.

14 shots does seem like a lot but law enforcement is taught to shoot until the threat stops. Shooting guidelines do not break down how many shots per incident.
A kid came after you with a knife. Sorry to hear that. Basically you got lucky then. You can't compare your incident with others as they are not all the same. Look into the 21' Rule regarding knife attacks.

When it comes to Walter Wallace, of course it's sad that he died. Better him than the two officers as they deserve to go home at the end of their shift as well. But to be blunt, he died how he lived. Very violently. His criminal record is a mile long and it seems the only thing he's good at was popping out kids (8 or 9 of them).

Meet Walter Wallace Jr, The Career Criminal Whose Shooting by Police Triggered Riots in Philly

Agree, lock up the rioters. They are opportunistic criminals.
You don't agree with the 2nd amendment DD?

I feel the moment you attack someone else with deadly force, cop or not, what happens to you after is your own fault. Your life is forfeit. There is no amount of force thats too much or overkill when someone is trying to kill you!

If someone comes at me with a knife, gun, baseball bat, or any other weapon that threatens my life, I feel completely justified in dispatching them in whatever way i find convenient. If that happens to be tossing them into a wood chipper... so be it.

    I am pro-gun.
I do no own a gun.

Although I do believe in background checks and possibly mandatory training.
I also believe in registration. (The police should know when they are knocking on your door if you have a M61 Vulcan... Just saying...)

I do believe that many pro-gun people are fanatical in their beliefs.

I do believe that a line has to be drawn somewhere as to what a person can own.
I do believe that a line should be drawn to how much a person can own.

    For instance...
I think we all agree people shouldn't be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
    Well how about chemical weapons?
    How abou anti-aircraft missiles?
    How about bazookas?
    Hand grenades?
    Etc etc etc...

I do not buy into the belief that a well armed militia means Jeff Bezos should have his own airforce and navy.

    As far as amounts...
If one guy can have 500 guns...
    Seems a bit excessive.
The right to bear arms doesn't necessarily mean the right to be an armory.

But the stance that many pro-gun people take is "don't give an inch".

    I get it.
    People are emotional about guns.
    Hell they are fun.
    Truth is they are addictive.

I’m trying to stay as far away from these conversation as possible. I respect everyone’s opinion, even the ones that are different than mine.

I will however clarify what I mean by “fucking animals”.

In no way do I condone the senseless act of theft and vandalism all in the name of “protest”. Does the inner city have a right to be angry? Absolutely.

Does that give them carte blanche to burn and loot innocent store owners (mom and pop or not) as an expression of their unhappiness and their right to protest? Hell no.

Pretty sure MLK Jr himself would agree with me.

Let’s also remember the Red nation in this country that everyone seems to forget about. Where were the civil rights leaders when Sioux Nation was under 4 feet of flood water, where were they when sacred burial grounds were being desecrated? I could go on, but I won’t.

My point is there are lots of things to be angry about. It doesn’t mean that burning and looting is the answer. I’m all for peaceful protests.

I’ll stay far away from the gun questions and the protection of the 2nd amendment. Not the hill I choose to fight on. Let the voters decide.

Always appreciate your side DD and thank you for the kind words

I live in N. Ireland at the moment so there's real life people all around me all the time who give me eye witness testimony of how shit can start out small and really get out of hand. Anger escalates.

Recently I met a man at an Open MIC night, a man in his 50's who sang one of his own songs about growing up in N. Ireland, "War will find a reason, it survives on blood and tears; forgiveness if very difficult even after forty years" -- actually let me email him now and find out where I can get that song.
