People thought my reason for moving to Philly was crazy.

I left little old Delaware to move to Philly because the crime was getting so bad in Wilmington (where I am from), and people didn't believe it was that bad. I know these people that got robbed, they are average John Q Public type guys that got lost leaving a nightclub.

    Wilmington

TWO BEATEN, ROBBED: Police are searching for a group of men that beat and robbed two men early Sunday at Fourth and Rodney streets. Police spokesman Lt. Robert Fox said the incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. The victims, whose names were not released, had stopped at the intersection while trying to find an entrance to Interstate 95, Fox said. Six men walked up to their car and one of the men reached into the vehicle and removed the ignition keys. When the victims got out to get their keys, they were beaten and robbed, police said. Both were treated at St. Francis Hospital. One victim needed nine staples to close a head wound, and the other was treated for scrapes and bruises. Police asked anyone with information to call detectives at 576-3620.

I hate delaware, its skidmark on the US map. I feel like all the degenerate people in this country fester in that god forsaken state (except for you Loz, of course). I go to school at Udel and the amount of bull**** i see and hear going on is rediculous....townies love starting shiznit. I hear of a robbery going down on campus once every 2-3 weeks. One shady state....

The problem is you could probaly fit 20 Wilmingtons in Philly. Wilmington is small so its like there is no escape from the violence. Dont get me wrong I am no pussy, I got alot of respect from the guys my age but these young boys just see some white boy.
If you are in a higher income residential area, there's violent crime, in the ghetto parts, in the downtown parts. Thats why I cme up Philly, the crime is still here but it is so much more spread out.

Why Americans live anywhere but one of these states is beyond me. I think it's becasue many eastern Americans have never left their own backyard and they don't realize what a toilet it is.

    1.) Arizona
    2.) Nevada
    3.) Colorado
    5.) Idaho
    5.) Washington

I live in Pennsylvaina........ It's a beautiful state with more than enough areas to live to get away from crime.

There's crime everywhere...... some places have less but there will always be crime.

I been doing some research online about Pheonix. I looks like a decent place to live. Big City life without the bulk of the big city problems.

Honestly, I have lived in MA, NJ, PA, IL, GA, and AZ.

Arizona was my favorite but I honestly missed the east coast. I actually like living in a place where the people would rather spit on you than talk to you. Go figure.

In addition, I have found that the 'pace' of life is MUCH SLOWER in other areas of the country compared to the north east.

I can't take a slow pace of life.

My man MudMan is the reason why I moved away from PA!

I live across the river in Sewer Jersey, and personally not a fan! Philly's cool at times for going out, hookin' up with good bro's like Mud, but I couldn't handle driving there for work or that GD! ScrewedandKILLED Expressway! Blank that! Philly's good for food and entertainment, but not work...the traffic can be just unbareable.
NJ, isn't much better, I hateit! No jobs and no fun...you have the beach, but then you have to deal with all the traffic and all the bs of driving down and getting around...THAT'S WHY I SIT AT HOME AND PLAY ON AR!

Delaware....well, it's....tax free! and ...well...delaware? WTF! I dont' even drive through there!

Oh cool heres another good example of Delaware life:

    Shoplifting leads to attacks, gunfire
Two charged after suspect flees to Pa.
    By MURALI BALAJI
    Staff reporter
    08/09/2004

A shoplifting incident at the Concord Mall in Brandywine Hundred led to an assault followed by a shooting and ended Sunday in North Philadelphia in a brief gun battle between police and one man, Delaware State Police said. No one was injured in the exchange.

About 3:30 p.m., a man and a woman were seen stealing two $30 watches from Boscov's department store in Concord Mall, Delaware State Police spokesman Lt. Joseph Aviola said.

When mall security guards tried to stop the pair, the woman attacked and bit one of the guards, and the man punched the other guard in the mouth and fled, Aviola said.

The woman, Kameshia Davis, 21, of the 2400 block of N. 32nd St., Philadelphia, was taken into custody while the man, David Williams, of the same address, got into a green Ford Escort station wagon, Aviola said.

A 50-year-old man who was driving a sport utility vehicle jotted down the license plate and description of the station wagon and followed Williams onto Concord Pike. The witness called 911 and reported Williams' whereabouts. Aviola said when Williams saw he was being followed, he confronted the witness near the Tweeter audio and electronics store at Brandywine Town Center.

Williams exchanged words with the witness and fired three shots - striking the 2004 Chevy Tahoe in the rear and in the back right tire - and fled, Aviola said. Investigators recovered three 9 mm shell casings at the scene.

Maj. David Baylor said the witness drove with a flat tire to the Pennsylvania-Delaware line and parked behind a Capriotti's, where he called police. Pennsylvania State Police assisted Delaware authorities in the investigation.

Philadelphia police captured Williams about 6 p.m. after several shots were exchanged near 32nd and Diamond streets near Fairmount Park in North Philadelphia, authorities said. Philadelphia police did not release details, but Aviola confirmed the arrest.

Baylor said Williams endangered others by firing shots in a public area.

"He put a lot of lives at risk," he said.

Williams was charged with attempted murder, robbery and conspiracy. He is being held in Philadelphia pending extradition to Delaware.

Davis was charged with robbery and conspiracy. Bail information was not available Sunday night. Aviola said more charges against the two are possible.

The guard who was punched by Williams was treated at Wilmington Hospital for a mouth injury and released.

We should have a Del Val get together at Marra's on Paseyunk Ave for some extremely cheap yet OUTSTANDING Italian food, then move on to Delilea's, hit a few clubs down on delaware ave, south street, and finish at the Show 'n Tell after 11pm!!!! There are better calculators on the net for comapring the cost of living between cities than this one but check it out: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/movecalc.asp

True enough. There is always nice areas in any state/county/province, etc. I guess I'm more into warm weather places. But IMO if you live in an upscale area outside of town and have to commute to Philly every morning it somewhat defeats the puropse of living in a nice area.

I can totally understand this point of view. No doubt in my mind if that's what you are looking for then big eastern cities are the way to go.

Lol I remember going to "710" for the first time on my 18th birthday many yrs ago and it was the last time I ever stepped foot in there. Not a big fan of strip joints-shelling out money to get teased but I gotta admit the showers they had back in the say were pretty cool.

By the way, I moved to Delaware from South Jersey 3 years ago while I was in college and would never in a million years go back. The traffic alone is enough to drive me crazy, let alone dealing with some of the worst attitude people in the world. Believe it or not, I enjoy living in DE and could see myself staying for quite some time.

Its nice if you dont live in Wilmington or New Castle, however they are the only cities that have stuff to do, with Newark the exception, lots of stuff to do in Newark, but the crime is creeping out there to. I'm not saying Delaware is a bad place to live, it is just when you live in the city it is so small and the crime is so bad its like it is all around you. When I was a teenager I was out wilding too. However at 30 I think I want to get away from it. Being single though, I have to be in the city, otherwise it is a necassity to settle down with a woman have kids get a dog and a white picket fence and give up on life. I'm a city slut what can I say, I guess I need to accept crime is everywhere. Phoenix doesnt look like a bad place to live like Chic was saying. I migh have to take a vacation out there to check it out.
