Friend got a tatoo, but artist says to let it dry?

I know with my TAT and talking to many artist's they say to make sure its moist with A&D, my friend just got his arm done, and the guy said to let it ary dry all day tomorrow, do not put anything on it. Then the next day to pust A&D on it..

Just sounds weird.. Ever hear of that?

I was told not to get it wet because the ink could run and to apply polysporin every 4 hours.

Different artists recommend different ways to care for the ink. If he lets it dry all day tommorow it will probably be uncomfortable and itchy. I would recommend using a thin layer of the A&D and keep it alittle moist not saturated. thats the best way I've done it and had no problems with my last couple of tats.

I let one of my tattoos dry and it scabed hardcore and pulled out some of the ink and when it healed it was spotty and I had to have it recolored. I wouldn't do it again.

I used to be a tat artist.....

2-3 hrs after you get it wash with warm soap
then apply non-scented lotion or a&d ointment every hr or 2
keep it moist but not goopy

never use neosporin...it can pull color out

every tat artist will tell you something different, But this is what I do and all my work always looks just like when I left the shop

any good artist will tell you to keep it moist with either A&D ointment or Tattoo Goo, never let a tattoo dry out and scab up because if it begins to get scabs, they will pull the ink out as the scab forms and it will totally screw up your piece....
