A "Treatise" for debate...

I can't say I entirely agree with the tone of this little piece, but it did present some surprising evidence, albeit in a vitriolic manner that somewhat diminishes the impact of the message. Either way, i thought it was worth throwing up for debate...assuming members can see through the crap and take it for what it *represents*: whether or not their is a stark divide in this country predicated upon geographic lines.

Well, I consider myself fairly well aware of our culture, but I had NO idea the disparity was as great as stereotypes tried to propogate. I found myself finding about two months arguing that it was homogeneity seemed to be inevitable in American culture. I've spent a good chunk of the day pouring over this guy's cites, and the facts, while not absolutely airtight, are **** solid.

I guess what's left to debate is whether or not this gap between two worlds in the US is genuinely legit or something being constructed and/or blown out of proportion for purposes such as these?

I couldn't get the link to work, but based on what you posted, its basically just pointing out what one could argue are flaws with uptight conservatives. (And a lot of negative stereotypes about southerners, and the "problems" with the southern U.S) So assuming all conservatives are Bible thumpers busy sinning.......but I don't see what the debate is. Should I post something written by Michael Savage about the flaws of liberals? He would probably be just as angry, but would present his ideas without as much profanity. Plus hes a PHD, which has to count for something.......I guess. In other words, is that worth debating any more than this? If you're so balenced and independent in your thinking, I'm confused as to why this was posted.


Point being: I don't really see whats to debate. There are flaws with people who are too uptight and hypocritical about what they believe, no matter which side of the spectrum they fall under. I can point out a couple recently posted threads to demonstrate if need be.
