    Post US Postal Service Regulation?

This may be a new heads up, not sure...
I'm not sure how new this regulations is...

But the other day while in the post office I notice
a new sign stating they have a regulation that
they do not need a search warrant to search any
packs containing any form of music or video...
So VHS taps, DVD's, 8mm Film, Pictures, yes even
Books and anything else that falls under these
categories can be opened and searched without
any warning and without a search warrart...

This includes all Priority and Express delivery packs
as well I would think, which I always thought was
safe unless they had a reason to look...

Like I said, not sure how new this regulation is,
but I have never seen it before and I always pay
attention to everything around me and this was
a new sign just posted as far as I could tell...

Amounts to one thing... Be safe and stay safe bros...

How would the post office know whats in a parcel (ie: video, blah blah) without opening it first?

I can understand the opening of parcels for customs purposes when dealing with international shipping, but opening local parcels stinks of a "big brother" police state.

On a related note, big brother is getting his long nose more and more into monitoring all we do on the net... http://news.com.com/2100-1028-5172948.html

I'm sure you've heard the line,

"If you keep doing what you've always done you'll keep getting what you've always got."

But so long as people continue to vote for the parties we've always voted for, we're gonna keep getting what they have to dish out.

If you're serious about getting your individual liberties back, you need to check out other political parties, like
the libertarian party http://www.lp.org/ and others.

I guarantee ya that if Tom Ridge and all the other folks in the Bush administration are allowed to keep their jobs (they're the ones behind the recent trampling on personal liberty) things ain't gonna get any better.

This may have something to do with the fact that law enforcement is enjoying considerably less restrictions now that the Patriot Act has become law. Unbelievable that legislation like that could pass in this country. Yeah, they will probably search whatever they want to like you guys said, almost any package could have tapes in it.

It has always been up to their discretion. Heck they could say they smelled something funny coming out of the pack, heard glass rolling around etc etc..
