I've had it happen to me before. Not to sound nasty, but when I wiped my @$$ it was straight blood. It happened twice a while back, I never got it checked out, but it never happened again. I don't know, I would like to know what the cause of this is as well.
Later blood brother

Could be Crohn's. Could be colorectal cancer. Get it checked out, unless it clears up by morning. They will draw some blood and ask you some questions and possibly schedule you for a colonoscopy. That sucks... it is painful, but it is pretty cool to watch the monitor as they stick that camera probe thingie waaaaaaaay up your ass. They stick that thing about 4 feet up there, and it makes all the turns and bends and stuff... there is this little doodad that they can extend out of the probe that takes little snips of tissue. It is kinda like discovery channel. They give you demerol and something else, I forgot... supposed to put you in a nice dreamy pain-free state, but I guess they didn't give me enough, cause that stuff hurt. They have to shoot air up there to make clearance for the probe thingie, and it is the air that hurts the most.
Crohn's, as well as IBS, is often triggered by high protein diets. Often it comes and goes, and an attack can be stopped sometimes with a 2 day fast and a serious purge. Works for me, usually. I am not on meds for my Crohn's. But do get checked. Don't just think you have the answers and can treat this thing at home. Find out for sure what you got.

it's normal for some blood to be there. If you **** is much as I do from eating so much each day your ass is gonna be raw from ****ing and wiping so much, but if it is blood that is coming out in the toilet and not just a little bit towards the end of your wiping then you need to get checked out!

I had this happen before. I went to the doc and he setup an appointment for me to get a colonoscopy done. Found out that it was internal hemmeroids.
The doc said the bleeding could have been caused by polyps which could have been bad if I wouldn't have got it checked out. They can be removed if found. If left alone, they can cause colon or rectal cancer. I would definately go to the doc for sure just to be safe.
Cut and paste below:
Are polyps dangerous?
Most polyps are not dangerous. Most are benign, which means they are not cancer. But over time, some types of polyps can turn into cancer. Usually, polyps that are smaller than a pea aren't harmful. But larger polyps could someday become cancer or may already be cancer. To be safe, doctors remove all polyps and test them.

Looks like i better go to the docs too! I tend to have a bit of blood when i have been, sometimes, but didnt think anything of it. I already see my doc quite alot for other, more serious things, but i will need some guts to tell him about this.

Generally, the appearance of red blood oxygenated) means it's coming from a the lower bowel...generally hemroids (even if you don't think you've got them, you may have them). When you have a condition in the upper bowel that is problematic, your stool will appear black in color. That's a bigger concern.
Go get it checked out but, probably not a huge problem.
