    Dark blood after injection..

After my injection into my right shoulder last night I had real dark blood come out after I withdrew my needle. The blood is usually bright red if I ever bleed but this time it was real dark. Is this anything to worry about?

no, blood color can vary depending on how much oxygen it is carrying, completely normal

Which means he likely nicked a vein. O2 saturation levels are near 97%+ in all people (in the arteries). If it drops much below that we have a serious problem. The difference we notice is when it passes through the capillaries it gets darker as we release O2 into the muscle. In the Vein less O2 saturation so the blood is darker.

But like tjax stated, it doesn't mean any serious damage was done and is very common when injecting.
