UFC fans vs. PRIDE fans. and your thoughts
my take on why the UFC has become so bad is because the fans want brutal knock outs, lots of blood, basically just a brawl, which is a shame because the sport is so much more than that. you see recognition of that with pride fans. example when it go's to the ground the fans arent pissed, they understand BJJ and respect the art and skill it takes to defend and set up a submission. thats what impresses the japanese fans. During a pride event it's wisper quiet opposed to a bunch of drunk fools. If American fans could reach that level of respect I think we would see a higher caliber UFC. IMO

Agreed. I remember the old ufc where people jsut came to get drunk and fight in the crowd. Its a little better now, but you just have a bunch of celebs that got free tickets. Pride crowd, people raised around martial arts that have respect.

Pride puts out better matchups then UFC, thats the cause of all this shit.

The cause of it all is most american/ UFC fans love knockouts and dont know jack shit about ground game or submissions or what a good grappling match is. Do you think that American fans would've appreciated a Sakuraba/ Carlos Newton fight like the Japanese fans did? Hell no

that's bad enough but it's even worse that dana white is trying to save money by manufacturing big names via the TUF show. that's gonna bite him in the ass in the long run.

Speeaking of ground fights being bashed, I forget the board name. But people were bashing the hell out of diego sanchez and nick diaz. I though it was a great technical fight. quick but technical

Didn't Chuck Liddel fight a few pride fights and got his butt knocked out? Then I heard there is some japanese guy who is kicking everyone's arse and has beat all but Rixen Gracie.

first off its rickson gracie not rixen, second he is most likely talking about Kazushi Sakuraba aka "The Gracie Hunter" since he has beaten every single Gracie he has faced including royce after a 90 minute match. and number three is sakurai not sakari

Yeah, i firs started training with Rickson back in 1999...you are mentioning Sakuraba..he is the Japanese fighter that owned the whole Gracie family and Rickson does'nt have the cajones to step up and never will. Nothing to discuss though as it is all ancient history now.
My GP Pics are:
Silva
Gomi
CroCop
Fedor
Hendo
Saku
Thompson
Alex
Kikuta
3 more but can't remember them right now...
