dvd-rw or dvd-r... depending on what type of disc drive you have... if you have a dvd-rom drive your computer will not be able to read a dvd-ram disc... dvd ram is a rewritable disc so you can copy new data over old data... dvd-rom is not rewritable so you cannot erase or copy new data over old... sounds like it is time to upgrade your disk drive to a dvd-rw... this will be able to read both... dvd ram is great for making home movies... if you blow a shot you can erase and do it over... dvd rom is great for info. or files you never want to erase or copy over... hope this helps or makes sense... i do not claim to be a computer wiz...

good point... some technology is finicky... my digital camcorder is a dvd ram drive that is supposed to be able to burn and read both formats... but it rarely ever can read or burn dvd rom disks... with mimimal success with dvd rom's i gave up... i now only use dvd ram disks... technology is great when it works, sux when it doesn't!

if u have windows xp , u can just go to MY COMPUTER and EXPLORE , drag n drop files or a whole compilation to your burner drive , with an empty dvd , and it will burn it automatically on it , wont give u the dvd-r or dvd+r bullcrap , but u have to know if your dvd burner supports both formats , otherwise use one of the other to burn your dvds ................hope that helps
