How do I take a clip from a movie file? AVI

I cant seem to get this? I have a hockey game in avi format and i want to take a clip and put it on you tube? any ideas? thanks

though very basic.. microsoft movie maker. a basic program that either comes with your computer or you can download for free will do this. you drag the video into it, and cut out the section that you want to keep. then i believe you clip publish or something like that and it will make that clip into its own movie...

its a very basic program, won't do any major tricks but it will get the job done.

Thanks, I got it figured out. I didnt even realize i had that program, I added music and some other cool stuff, thanks again!
