HELP ME!!! I'm trying to revise my cutting diet
Ok I have a lot of questions and for those who are going to come out and post the "Use the search" save it cause I already tried that and didn't come up with what I'm looking for. I've read the cutting sticky a few times over and over and still having a little trouble setting it up.
1. Now lets say you set your diet to 195lbs (thats what I am) and you start dropping BF/weight are you suppose to adjust your diet to your new lower weight every week or days? If so are you suppose to adjust your diet for every 5,10, ect... pounds you drop?
2. I seen this in the "How to bulk" post Harris Benedict Formula for Men
BMR = 66 + (13.7 X weight in kilos) + (5 X height in cm) - (6.8 X age in years). Should I base my diet using that method? It didn't say what split ratio to use when cutting using the cutting diet. Which should I use 60/30/10, 60/20/20 ect...?
Here my revised diet tell me where and how I should fix it:
8:30am: AM Cardio (Hour)
10:30am: 5 Eggs(2 whole), 4 oz of turkey
1:00pm: 6 oz of grilled chicken and 1.5 tbls of flax
4:00pm: 2 cans of Tuna with (how much?) Mayo
7:00pm: 6 oz of grilled chicken, (how much?) natty Pbutter
8:00pm: Workout
9:00pm: PWO shake 40g pro/80g Dex
10:00pm: 10 oz of grilled chicken, 3/4 cup of rice, and 1 cup of veggies
Before bed: 60g Pro shake with 1.5 TBLS of flax
The reason I put the 7:00 meal there is cause in a few post I read you should eat carbs before your workout for energy is that right? Well guys I need as much help as possible so I would appreciate any tips or help you give me. Its really sucks/wake up call when you whole family starts telling you that your getting fat and "wow look at your gut". Heres my stats if you need them 5'8 195lbs around 25% BF.Last edited by Shrad6; 08-01-2004 at 05:29 PM.

eating carbs before your workout for energy will not help you very much at all, especailly since your consuming them an hour before your workout so it will still be digesting. For the macros, maybe try 50/30/20 from the look of your diet you will be auto-cycling your carbs anyways, the carbs you are eating will be mainly the ones used to replenish your muscles after working out....

First and foremost I'm no expert but I think I'm right in the below comments, the experts will be your best source!
I don't think that there is a need for carbs preworkout, plus it would take a while for your body to process them to use for energy. I also think u would wanna stick with all pro/fat before your workout and have 2 PWOS like you have listed with one more profat before bed. Looks like you could also use some veggies in your meals.
You may want to cut one of the tbs of flax oil in the meals you have 2 listed; that's close to 25g of fat/meal and might send you over your dailiy intake needs. Maybe just do one tbs, and one tbs before bed in the additional pro/fat meal.
Right now I see about 60g of fat which may be just about right if not a little too much but it should work when you move it around.
Hopefully the experts will jump in here !!Last edited by Atwacity; 07-31-2004 at 10:14 PM.

Thanks I'll drop it down to 1 TBLS of flax per meals. What should I do with the carb meal before my workout? Should I get rid of it totally? Yes I just realized I have no veggies in my diet. I'll substitute the rice with veggies in my last meal. If I add a pro/fat shake before bed would that be too much for a cutting diet with all the meals throughout the day?

Just change the pro/carb over to pro/fat. There are some other fat sources you can look at also. Scroll down in this diet forum and see how the guys helped with my cutter. You do need the rice in the last meal listed b/c you need to carb up 2x PWO. The first being the dex that you have the second being carbs from a complex source. You can add veggies in there if you want and you can also add some veggies into the profat meals. The carb count in 1C of broccoli is usually 2 so that doesn't even count.
Just don't 100% take my word for it, I'm still a beginner but have read up a ton LOL.

Thanks a lot dalcowbag your very helpful, but how many cans of tuna should I eat in that meal with mayo?
I don't know if its possible, but can someone add the diet up and give me the macro and calories breakdown on it. If not then can someone tell me where to get the nutrient breakdown on those foods.Last edited by Shrad6; 08-01-2004 at 11:40 AM.
