Going Catabolic
In general how long can you go without food before you body gets into a catabolic state. It probably depends on the person/genetics etc.. but just in general? And this maybe a dumb question but I really don't have a detailed idea of what it means when your body gets catabolic. I have somewhat of an idea I think but I would like to get some details on it. Thanks bros

The term "catabolic" refers to a breakdown of complex molecules (muscle tissue) by your metabolism. The human body, or any living mammal for that purpose, will "use" molecules for energy, and the body typically takes the easier route. Muscle will burn a majority over fat if you do not keep an energy source (healthy food) in your body.

Thats kind of what I figured. I suppose how long before your body goes into that state depends.

Impossible to tell you for everyone has their own metabolism and different diets. Estimate 4 hours though.

It's 24 hours minimum (in reference to muscle tissue)

So your body doesn't start eating away at muscle tissue for at least 24 hours.
