    Eating too much to grow?

Can you eat too much in general, to gain muscle? Does eating a lot slow your metabolism down to the point where it takes your body longer to grow muscle? Is this possible?

if you eat to much you will store the excess as fat

if you don't eat enough you wont grow it's a fine balance

eating TO much wont lower metabolism but it will make you a bit sluggish depending on quality of food. If its alot of cheat foods then you will become lasy as hell when your constantly hyperglycemic and loads of insulin circulating. The extra (fat)weight gain also decrease cardiovascular ability but shouldnt hurt low rep strenght at all.

But you will get out of breath quickly in the gym and high rep sets will be hell
