Quick, maybe stupid, chicken question
ok when i buy chicken it says like 40g pro per 4oz. so if i fry up a pound of it and eat it throughout the day is that about 40x4? i just wasnt sure if some of the protein is lost during cooking, cuz i know a lb of chicken raw is not still a lb after its cooked. thanks yall

It's probably more around 35 grams protein after being cooked.
Estimate a 10% loss.

let's make sure that the chicken you are cooking is 100% chicken, and not chicken with rib meat.
That seems to be a hidden or overlooked thing when buying a chicken breasts.
Most nutrional scales that I know of take into account its already cooked portion that you will be consuming. I guess this is why some weigh there food before and after cooking.

weigh food after cooking and go from there...fitday allows you to put in how it's cooked and then tells you the macros.

only water goes away when cooking. So if the chicken is say 18 weight % protein before cooking it might be 22-23% or more after cooking. But as far as I know every food chart I have ever looked like has shown the raw ratios. But offcourse you americans are wierdos so I guess you might have odd charts.
