WTF! My bloodpressure was all over the place today

I got pinkeye from my kid and when I went to the dr today my BP was 141/104 the first time and after the 3rd and 4th time was 126/100. My BP has never been this high. Went to CVS right after dr appt to get eye drops for the pink eye and their BP machine said 118/83. Got home 10 minutes later and 1st try was high 140/100, waited 10 minutes and it was an average of 124/83 out of another 5 tries. Dr said it was more than likely due to body fighting off the pink eye. I haven't done my test c injection in 9 days. I am scheduled for my umbilical hernia operation friday (finally) and didn't want any problems with my pre op bloodwork. Could the BP rise be because of daily meds (protonix, lyrica) and supplements (vit c,msm,glucosamine,coq10,alpha lipoic acid) taken right before I went to the dr? Had one cup of coffee prob 4 hours before the dr visit so I don't think it's that. Any ideas?

Don't know your age, but for many 140/80 is just fine and will have zero long-term consequences.

BP has to be measured at least three times (yes, everyone does it incorrectly), with at least a min. in between. If no consistency is achieved after 3 readings, then 4 or 5 might be necessary.

My BP varies by ±10 mm during the day and even more if I'm in a stressful situation (like driving to the CVS to pick up meds).

My 2 cents: you are normal, but keep a log for a couple of weeks before you decide otherwise.

If it's doctor prescribed TRT take your T shot!

ecd Rite Aid is just as bad. I dread every trip there. Some of them are like a deer in headlights when you ask them a question...

Thanks for the input guys. Kelkel I did have a prescription for a few years but got tired of the clinics jacking up prices and other shenanigans. I chose the homebrew route. Plus I am on a lower dose at 125mg per week, and getting BW done more often than once a year. So far everythings been good. Checked my BP again tonight and it was 120/80. I'm just trying to figure out why it was so high earlier today. I'll be monitoring it closely for the next few weeks and follow up with the dr when I go in for the pinkeye follow up visit.

options, I'm on meds for BP, so I can relate. Relax, million reasons readings could of been off, even so, none of them are of any worry. More than likely you just dont like the fact it wasnt perfect as usual, but again, BP will varry on so many things, no cause for alarm here.

Okay I think I've pinned it down to my allergy meds. It has pseudoephidrine in it. I have been taking this late in the day and noticed my BP is higher earlier in the day when I have taken this the night before and then gets lower throughout the day. When I don't take it my BP is fine the next day even in the morning. Bullshark what kind of BP meds do you take and what are the side effects? High BP can be a job killer for me, so if it goes back up for some strange reason I will have to use meds, and be under the watchful eye of the company quack.
