    Patellofemoral Chondrosis

Hey all, I've been waiting to post this until I saw a dr to get a full diagnosis.

For years I've been having pain whenever I run more than 100 feet that gets worse over time and results in a weakened knee. By the end of a marathon I can't even do a leg extension without weight. (Wrestled in high school, lots of shots, always went down to the left knee) It happens on the inner part of the knee just under the knee cap.

My MRI was essentially normal according to the report. The dr heard me describe this and called it Patellofemoral Chondrosis. Anyone else have this? Will I ever be able to run long distances without pain again? Does surgery for this condition actually work or is it a waste of time? What works, what doesn't?

Also, is it possible to have Patellofemoral Chondrosis even when an MRI shows my cartilage is healthy?

    Thanks for the help.
