I have a derm appointment Thursday!!!!!
thank god, the time has come, i have had cystic acne on my face for the last 2 years and tried alot of things such as benzomicen, benzoil peroxide, all the otc supps including b-5 which was a waste for 3 months Ive tried retin-a as well as a topical antibiotic, now i have a new derm though and im hoping she gives me some accutane....anybody know what other meds she might give me, im just anxious because im so tired of having cysts all over my face...Thanks Guys!!!!

did you tried anything before that worked for you or even improved your face acne a little bit ?

she might give you minocycline, which is an anti biotic that kills bacteria

I just went to the docs on this about 4 weeks ago and she gave me Tetracycline and Evoclen topical (clindamycin).. Of course it has not done anything yet.
not to hijack this thread but along the same lines how does these AB's like Tetracycline and others effect a cycle while on?

just an update guys... my derm gave me doxycycline and differin, so i guess im happy...she says if this does not work i am able to get Accutane thank god...but for my insurance to cover the accutane i have to be on the antibiotic for at least 6 weeks, so we will see...i dont care what i get...just as long as i get rid of my damn face acne!!!

differin will dry your skin out it is very powerful in fighting oil. Good luck..

man, i guess having your mom who works in a dermotology office has it advantages. I have more Differin, Retin-A-micro, benzyol peroxide bars, anything you can imagine, including about $1,000 worth of Aveno moisturizers in my closet. i should start sellin this stuff!
