    Before or After

a workout in the gym should I do cardio? I know cardio should be done in the a.m. on an empty stomach. But there are some mornnings that I cant do cardio in the a.m. But for most of the time I get to do my cardio in the a.m. but I also wanna up my cardio so I figue I'll do more in the gym when Im there at around 5-7p.m. So before I start lifting or after im done? Im not on a bulking cycle Im trying to lose weight right now and then....

    Thanks

If I can't do cardio in the morning I like to do cardio right after my weight training. While I do my cardio I slowly drink my post workout drink consisting of isopure / dextrose and maltodextrin

Thanks, but what im trying to get at is it better to do it right before I lift or right after I lift when im in the gym. ***I also do cardio in the a.m.*** I thought when you lift your suspose to it before or after some reason because your muscles may get tired if you do it b4 and then not get the right workout when lifting. And then if you do cardio after your lifting your not leting your muscles relax and rest. Whats the deal???
    Thanks again

do it after the weights,......you will need the energy for the weights,...... and after the weight training part your body is depleted of carbs and such,.... then it is easier to get into the fat stores for energy to fuel your cardio,..... so IMO you`ll burn more fat and have a better workout too this way..

At my gym there is an article, with stats showing that cardio post workout burns more calories than before.

however, you want to get protein and carbs into your system as soon as possible after weight lifting. preferably w/i 30 min. if you then proceed to do cardio after your weight lifting...........you miss that 30 min window of opportunity. am i correct in this thinking?

it seems to me that you shouldn't do cardio anywhere near your workouts. i think it should be done on an empty stomach as much as possible to burn more fat during.....and then replenish w/ BCAA, glutamine, and protein...w/ no carbs.

This big mofo in a gym that I used to use would take his postwork out shake then hit cardio then get another one after cardio. I don't know the proprotions of dextrose and protein that he was taking for each shake though. I just observed this practice.
