    new leg press numbers

    set 1 - 14 plates (630lbs) - 18 reps.
    set 2 - 16 plates (720lbs) - 3 reps.

    This past Sunday
    Set 1 - 16 plates - 10 reps
    Set 2 - 16 plates - 11 reps.
    (720lbs)

If i can increase volume to 16 reps, i will attempt 810lbs.

    Is 1,000 attainable?

squat numbers are much more impressive than leg press, especially if you only move the deck six inches. i've seen a 6'5 180lb guy do 1300. and he had no legs to speak of.

My knees are about 5 inches from my chest - they won't go back any further - then all the way up the ramp - its a full range of motion.

I started pushing about 2 plates a year ago.
For whatever reason the squats hurt my knees - i get 1 rep out then the pain is so bad i have to stop. The physio didn't help much either.

If squats hurt your knees it could be from bad form. The expression "ass to the floor" mean anything to you. Just an expression, i would go to parallel on lighter weight and a little above on heavier.

    Bro, 2 weeks ago I was doing 12 plates for 12, 12, and 12. The next week 14 plates for 14, 13, and 10. Yesterday I did 16 plates for 11, 10 and 9. Don't know how, but don't care!

I've got 1,000 in my sights. Wanna race?

    I couldn't agree more.

I have heard so many people say that you should go below parallel, but that is BS unless you are as flexible as a rubberband and only doing 225lbs or less. I always try to go parallel, but sometimes the balance just isn't there for a rep or two.

About one year ago, I could only do 225lbs squat for 10 reps and then go down from there on successive sets. I just kept my nose to the grindstone, and now here is my normal leg workout.

    Vitals:
    26 years old
    5'5"
    175lbs

    Squats:
    135lbs - 10 to 12 reps (warmup)
    Stretch
315lbs - 10 reps (with belt and knee wraps)
385lbs - 8 to 10 reps (with belt and knee wraps)
405lbs - 8 reps (with belt and knee wraps)

    Leg Press:
    630lbs(14 plates) - 10 reps
    720lbs(16plates) - 10 reps
    810lbs(18plates) - 10 reps

Then leg ext., leg curl, calves, then zero weight lunges

When doing the leg press, I put my elbows on the back rest and use my hands as a stop. I bring my legs down until my thighs touch my hands then press back up. So I definetelly come all the way down.

Some say that by using knee wraps that I'm cheating on the squats, but I say they are morons that are asking for injury. I use knee wraps and a weightbelt for any weight 300lbs or more. The knee wraps simply protect your ligaments in your knees and allow you to relax more under the weight. If you are having knee pain when doing squats, try the wraps, you may like them.

Oh, and I have attained these weights naturally up until now. I think I could attain 1000lbs on the leg press naturally, but it would take me another 6 months to a year.

I'm about to start my first cycle since I was 19 years old, so I'd say that 1000lbs is easily in my grasp within a month or two.
