Wide grip chins. dems da bomb for lats! Follow with a set or two of bentover barbell rows or better yet chest-supported t-bar rows.

You can try counter weighted chins! I think bent over bar and dumbell rows are over looked.. they are def the most important! Hows your deadlifts?? also the more of a taper your have depends on the waist situation

No. The mechanics are all wrong, and it is pretty near impossible for most of us. Just get your chin over the bar and you got it! Add weight when you can do a full set of proper chins without cheating.

Some will disagree but I agree with you. The way the lats fan out, there must be a difference in what part of them get stressed depending on how the arm is being pulled back: from above or from ahead/below. Sorta like working upper or lower pecs depending on inclination and therefore the angle that the arm makes with the body. Certainly, T-bar rows etc will contribute some to lat width, and certainly chins will contribute some to thickness, but I really believe you should do one of each type of exercise if you want to really make them grow, and prioritize your exercise according to your goals.

Since i start doing Chinup(with the help/support machine),pull up and Lats Pulldown, really concentrating on strechting my Upper lats(width) have increase dramatically.
