upright rows
iv been doing upright rows to do my neck, i was ok with these but now i think my technique is going cos every time i do them i get a tightning in my forarm muscle on my left arm. is this normall cos its really uncomfy. can anyone else suggest a different/better set of neck exercises

Sounds like you have weak forearms, so I would work them also. Try adding some db shrugs to start with.

just your left forearm? that doesn't sound right. Try a lighter weight.

if it's just your left forearm, you might be doing something else that is causing damage to it and you just don't notice until you are doing rows.
haven't been bowling left handed a lot, have ya?

i have same problem with upright rows, except its weird springing feelings in the back of my triceps, its just weird angle to have wrists at while carrying alot of weight, my solution is just avoiding the exercise...

I seriously suggest just using lighter weight. No one expects you to upright row 225. It may not feel "right" , you may feel like a pussy, but you're at the gym to work your muscles, not your ego.
