Shoulder Presses, Im done with them!!!
I am done with any over head shoulder press, I barely make it through my chest workouts from the pain, mostly constant click pain when raise my arm to press, like part of the bone is rubbing. Do you I think I can still make good gains doing only side laterals, front laterals, internal and exteral rotations?

Must be using horrible form, or just have bad joints. Like striker said lose the anterior delt excercises. Concentrate on strict form with lower weight, and don't forget your posterior delts, some people overlook them quite a bit.

I bought Joint Care by, beverly international a few days ago its has msm, and glucosamine, I just started taking it 2 days ago, so ill see how that works out. I think I have bursitis which I think is the root of my problem, my shoulder hurts if I sleep on it. I use pretty strict form, in fact for the past few weeks I was using a lighter weight, with higher reps nice and slow, really squeezing the muscle on every rep.

It will take weeks for the msm to kick in, and days for it to clear the system. So make sure you don't skip days taking it, and be patient for it to start working.

Before you try and change your workout plan.....you need to see a sports doctor or specialist. See whats causing the pain.... rotator cuff ....bersa inflamation or poss just slight tears in some of the ligaments. You have to figure out what the problem is before you change your workout to solve it...you may just make the problem worse. IMO

I just found out I have an injury in my rotator cuff, super spinatous (sp), I think. Do this test on yourself, hold your arm out straight infront fo you and have someone press down, if you have a hard time holding the arm up or have pain this is an indication you have also injured this tendon. It is the tendon in your front delt, I am getting ultrasound and massage this week and next and should be good to go, but for future reference the overhead press is the hardest workout on your shoulders, it causes most of the strain to be placed on your tendons and ligaments instead of the muscle.

Rotator Cuff is no joke. I tore my wuper spinatous and had to have total reconstructive surgery. It ended my baseball career. I feel for you. Get it taken care of for sure. Good luck.

I had to stop with barbell shoulder press. And I went with Dumb Bell press. It alowed me move my elbows in just a littel and no more pain in my shoulders. I too have a torn rotator cuff, from a car accident. And this helped.

Clicking shoulder
Bro this sounds like a classic case of clicking shoulder, its very common among lifters and its quite possible you have no real damage, what happens is your rotator muscles get tight, and where the joint should slide freeley tension builds up in the rotator muscles and then when the joint passes the muscle snaps back caising pain and a loud click and it does indeed feel like the bones are rubbing together, this is how to test for it and cure it. Right before you do the exercise that causes the pain try this.... go to the low pulley machine and take hold of the bar/handle in one hand, kneel on the floor and put your elbow on a bench, choose a very light weight to start and imagine you are arm wrestling the machine, notice your uper arm is rotating thus isolating the rotator muscles, and giving them a thorough warm up, do three sets of ten both forwards and reverse, have a minutes rest and then go and do the offending excersise, if its a simple case of clicking shoulder you should now be able to shoulder press as if nothing was ever wrong.

I hurt my rotator cuff doing incline shoulder press in January and haven't been write since. I'm finally seeing a shoulder specialist monday and hoping no surgery involved if surgery does anybody know how long before I could lift again. For the past couple months the only thing I've been able to do is light curls and push up bars and I'm ready to hit it hard again. I hurt my shoulder while on a precursor I think I over lifted but I had lots of gains but always felt like shit. I was thinking about doing some test for my first ever cycle and my friend said he gained 30lbs on it in twelve weeks. Is that really possible.
