    Training at 50 years old

    50 yrs old
    Male
Test cyp 600mg/wk, HCG , Dex
Decent diet. Carbs need to come down. Friggin chips!

    Question:
Training at 50 is not like 25, that I can assure you. But Iím doing all my body parts just once a week and I kill them when I do. Iím wondering if switching to twice a week might be more efficient...get most out of cycle? Is this stupid for a 50 year old even on cycle? Should I ease up a bit rather than kill at twice a week?

If you can post your stats, cycle history and goals you will get a better response to your post. If the question is split the dose and take 300 every 3.5 days then yes. Have you thought about putting Cialias in there as well? Don't have to have ED to take Cialias.

Wait, are you only hitting the gym ONE time a week?

Same age basically, and only do each major bodypart once a week.Difference is,i do a split.
    Monday-chest triceps
    Wednesday-legs shoulders
    Friday-back biceps.
Four or five days was burning me out, plus i don't want to be in the gym most of the week,as i'd
end up pissed off,and probably give it up.I'm not a competing bodybuilder,so i don't need to
    make the same sacrifices.
In the greater scheme of things,i'm not going to be around for too much longer,so i can't spend
too much time on any one thing.
Compared to the majority of folk my age,i'm in pretty decent shape, and that's good enough.

Yeah I hear you. But I am trying to maximize my gains and wanting to see more results. I am seeing them, but just don’t know how far I can push my body without it breaking down. I have back and shoulder issues to work around. 3 level lumbar spinal fusion. Can’t do lat pulls. No crunches/abs and squats I have to be extremely careful light weights. I usually use machines or hack squat. Thanks for your feedback

Third cycle at this age. Played football and cycled in 20’s. Lifting experience is extensive but old...meaning from 80-90’s. 3 level spinal fusion surgery fixed my back and I’m getting healthy again...well with gear I guess. Body fat about 18%...needs to be lower I know. Work in progress

I am taking Cialis daily also forgot Ncal (liver stuff) daily low dose aspirin vitamin d, fish oil...due to high try-glycerides

Blood work is good as of three weeks ago. E was too low so reduced Dez
Have some primo and Tren e coming for a cutting cycle next go

    What else can I provide

Hitting each body part once per week is all you need. You're growing when home eating and resting, it has nothing to do with how much time we spend in the gym. Just make your workouts count. With age comes issues we all have to work around unfortunately.

    Goals. I’m 208 6’ at 18-19 body fat.

Want to get to 220 and 10% by June/July. Also I’m TRT so always on base is 150mg test week off cycle

I think I just need to try twice a week/split dose and see how it goes.

I should listen to you. I mean look at them quads on your Photo. Nuts!! But, I am going to try twice a week for my last three weeks on cycle to see how it feels. My gut says I can handle it but I also want to know for the next cycle. I’m at that stage where I’m seeing rapid easy gains and I hooked. I know things will slow down but I want to squeeze the peach for all I can.

I need to cut next cycle. Do you think Tren e and primobolen with some Test e
And how much of each...or another mix?

Got those issues myself, plus i got more arthritis than the buy two get one free arthritis fuckin' mega store!
When your two days older than grass,it's easier and a lot quicker to explain what's not wrong with you, than
the other way round. You learn to improvise, and work around things.
Lighter weights? fine, just keep it strict and do more reps, you're gonna improve
End of the day,i just think it's more psychological than anything else.
Best of luck with your goals!

Yeah, psych. I’m the type to think more is better and that simply is not the case at 50. Smart is better. I too have several work arounds for my issues. Adapt and improvise. Never quit or give up. My goal of 10% body fat is a goal and I’m gonna push hard but it’s not gonna be easy. It is the holidays. Good luck to you too!

Chips, beer and college football time of year! My diet downfall. We are now mature and not old. Remember when we were 25 and the hot girls were going out with the 50-year-old men? Now that is you/us. Hit that 10% and find some younger chick. I am married but I have friends that tell me that these young girls do shit we only see in porn.

Keep posting. Train smart and keep the chips out of the house. That is the only way I can not eat them.

I am 51 and take lifting seriously. I also compete but I am not Mr O material nor will I ever be.
I work out 6 days /wk and 4 of those days 2x /day. Cardio and small muscles on the second workout. 1 muscle per workout per week.
I also had a fusion on the 3 lumbar. I no longer go super heavy. I will push myself but with a min of 8 reps. I feel that lowering the reps and increasing the weight adds too much stress on my joints.

When I can not make it to the gym here is a workout that helps me work on my core. Easy to do while traveling and it takes some time to get all the pushups done correctly so I had to go to my knees to do the pushups. Doing them correctly is more important. I have a few other ones like this if you want me to post them.
    10 squat jumps
    10 push-ups
    9 squat jumps
    9 push-ups
    Etc...Down to 1
    Rest 1 minute
1 Squat jump, 1 push up
    2 squat jumps, 2 push up’s
    Etc…back up to 10

Yeah hitting a muscle twice a week or more may be beneficial. Yeah the research has described some benefit to it.

depends on how strong and developed you are now . I personally believe that guys who are strong and very well developed and thus can create a lot of homeostatic stress in their lifts for a single body part can get by training that body part once per week and also needing a whole week for it to recover. if your not that strong though then you'll probably be better off hitting that body part with more frequency , at least twice per week.

    heres example -

    - 250 pound bodybuilder doing chest day , he benches 455 for 7 sets of 8 , then dumbbell presses 180 pound dumbbells for 5 sets of 10 , etc. etc.. this guy is causing a whole lot of homeostatic stress on the body and chest fibers. only doing this once per week and having a whole week to recover from that much damage may be best .

    - 120 pound house wife doing chest day . she benches 60 pounds for 3 sets of 10 , does the pec dec with 45 pounds, does dumbbell presses with 20 pounds .. this woman is not creating a ton of homeostatic stress , she does not need a week of recovery for her chest . she'll be ready to hit it again in a couple days .

so evaluate where your at and make a decision based on your current strength level . I train people and see all different fitness and strength levels . I think most people are going to benefit from a higher frequency program (cause most people lack strength and intensity), but then again once in awhile you get that Dorian Yates minded guy that really hits it hard and heavy and can only train one body part and needs a week to recover

You are wanting to lose roughly 20lbs of fat, and put on 32lbs of muscle in six months! Good luck bro...
