Guys, a little guideline may help understand how things are . . .

(By the way, I'm responding to this without remembering what was in either KeyMastur's or cnyce89's posts. For all I know, I may have been the mod that deleted their posts. Or I may not be - frankly, we read so many posts that once I leave a thread, I forget what I saw there until the next time I see it again. So my answer is not given with regard to any posts that may have been deleted.)

We're not in the censorship biz as far as topics, content per se, or even language are concerned. (You can say fuck as much as you want; we'll let it slide. But don't try this at home guys; it will make you look very immature.)

There is aboard policy against flaming, and that policy includes comments that can be construed as racist, sexist, or homophobic. It's not a matter of being politically correct, but of showing mutual respect to each other and not insuling groups generically.

So if your posts were deleted, it would have been due to specific wording that could be construed as offensive or inflammatory. This includes comments that could be called, for lack of a better term, crude - those that objectify persons.

Speaking personally, the guidelines I use are very simple: When I see the word pussy, it better be about a cat. And when I see bitch, it better be used as a verb and not a noun. When I see tits, it better be about gyno. And when I see the word fuck, it better not be immediately followed by you. Ethnic, sexual, or gender slurs - not at any time. And when I see them all in the same sentence, you know it's not gonna last.

I am aware that most other mods use the same standard. Sometimes we discuss these standards, other times we have to make the best judgment call we can.

I wish you all the best as "babe magnets." But remember, as you go through this wacky thing we call life, that you'll always have more luck with a dozen roses than you will by talking about the size of your schlong.

By the way, this policy is also observed when it comes to PM's that are reported to us. It started when some of our female members reported getting crude posts from male members. We do love our women here, but we also respect them, and if one of them posts a pic and starts getting PM's that say, "Great pic, babe, I wanna get in your pants," the writer is out. The same thing will happen if one of our gay members receives a PM saying, "Get off the board, fag." And it's not that we're giving special rights to any person or group, merely that we have a mutual respect policy across the entire spectrum.

This is the kind of thing that has made A.R. the best board around. It's what makes us different than any other board/ It affirms that we are a weightlifting-bodybuilding-AS-fitness community (to the extent that you can have a community in cyberspace). It's the same kind of conduct we hope for (and sometimes have to demand) in a gym or a weight room - no more, no less. It's one of the reasons that we have recently seen so many new members coming from the other boards and calling A.R. home. And it's what makes A.R. work.
