Thread: got good genetics?

my genetics have never been super good. i can put mass onto my quads, back and shoulders easily but i have little calves that i cannot get to grow at the same rate as the rest of my body. my bicep and tricep are unusually close in size to eachother. my wing span is 4 inches longer than my height so it makes my arms harder to make look big. my forearm is only about 1.5 inches smaller than my arm measurement. i'm native american so i can put on weight pretty fast but without a super strict diet i put on fat also and is hard for me to burn off. i have a buddy that doesn't work out and is larger than me. pisses me off that he's into drugs and all kinds of stupid crap and is leaner and bigger. oh well, got to work with what i got. since it's harder the goals i reach are that much better.

I am a natural-born athlete. I'm very strong for my size, extremely fast, and very well coordinated. Even before I began lifting, I was well developed and lean. I've always looked better than most people. I'm also very handsome.
Unfortunately, at 5'9", I'm on the short side, and although I put on muscle easily, being more than 215 lbs or so without steroids is unrealistic.
I'm happy with everything but my stature. I can pull 8s and 9s with no problem right now, but if I was about 6 ft tall, I could be getting the 10s that I can only dream about.

I'm a classic Endo/Meso....Can put on muscle and gain strength fairly easily. Also can pile on fat easily too. Harder for me to shed fat quickly. Which is why I'll always be on a lean bulk or a cut.

I know i have bad genetics. My parents are both skinny, very much ectomorphs (both of them). My grandparents have a very similar build too.
Ironically, after i've gotten big from training and stuff....... so many people have told me i have "GREAT" genetics! This is simply not true. The fact is that i have bad genetics, but have (i think relatively easily, but it took time) overcame them.

I dunno, I was told im a Mesomorph. Some guys said I lost fat and firmed up amazingly, considering i took off over 100 pounds in 19 months, and gained a ton of strength. I was one of the weakest guys in my gym at first. Little guys made a fool of me. --->me <---little guys. They dont laugh anymore
Im at a plateau though, its getting much harder to take off fat. Still getting stronger, slowly, getting more muscular, slowly, but im taking off the bodyfat extremely slowly.
I think I could hold 270 easily with very little body fat, without ever juicing. Im amazingly tall, wide, and thick as far as my skeletal structure goes. Im gonna take pics of me soon, at 290. (2 more pounds)Last edited by Evil Predator; 08-29-2005 at 10:23 PM.

My genetics suck arse...
The only thing my body does easily is GET FAT! if I am not constantly carefull
Well, thats not entirely true... my legs are good... I barely work them out and they're always huge... calves bulge out and all... but everything else I have to work HARD.

my only real benefit via genetics besides pbeing proly regular all around is massive calves naturally.
something like 18.5" w/o working them. I've been a long distance runner and still had them somehow.
Heres a crappy pic. Its hard trying to take pics of your own calves hah.

I got to work on things...
I can build muscle, but the fat just seems to stick...wish I looked better...

I am an ectomorph , I have worked hard to gain mass but now I think my body has changed I am not eating enough but I am keeping my muscles and strenght.

Id say my genetics are so so. They arent the best, i know a few guys, wnbf pros, national qualifiers etc who are of a simmilar age to me and make me look like i dont work out, but i also see people at the other end of the spectrum who i put to shame. I try not to worry too much. i have tiny calves like my old man and they do not grow! I also have a very light bonestructure (wrists are only 6 5/8ths" ankles are like 8 1/2") but as im not a powerlifter so that can be a benefit. Also meant when i stepped on stage i had a 27.5" waist.

I hear i've got good genetics.
It pisses me off that people undercut all the hard-work i've put in in the 8 years i've been training...(6 of which i've been competing...) by dismissively saying..."o he's got great genetics"
I think i've got good genetics...and a better work-ethic

Me on the other hand, I have my mothers body and I fight everyday not to turn into her. I put on muscle and keep muscle quite easily for a girl but the fat just does not want to drop. It would take me twice if not three times as long to get to certain body fat levels compared to my friends.....who by the way half of them dont even work out! Yes it's frustratring but I'm willing to work for what I want.

well I started 6 foot 120 sickly skinny .... 13 years later or so naturally I got to 6 3 240
Im real proud of myself for that...noone can take that from me.
I'm at about 225 now.... I lost all my gains off two prop/tren 's cycles this year....both sucked!!
Genetically Im a pure ecto....
I have to eat like a fukin wacko and work out CONSTANTLY just to stay where I am now, my body just wants to be a fukin stick.

i thought that i had good genetics when i first start BBing.... 1st year was crazy, 20lbs natty and was sorta proud of my 15.5 gunz LOL.... but when i look at what ive done/took for the 3 following years to put 50lbs im kinda disappointed... took 3 fukin years to get 2" on arms and 120lbs on bench...
