i CANT SWIM!!!! :( :( :( :(
THIS IS ****ING KRAZY!!!!!!
i used to swim AWSOME.. but i wa like 80lbs lighter ><
but like i havnt swam in 3years or 4.. just never been able to.
ok ok so i goto lake last night to swim have fun and shit at this lil beach (BTW I GOT SAND IN MY EYE AN IT HERTZ!)
ok so thinking of my past (being great swimmer in all honesty) we go into the water and im like i RACE u to that booey Rope! (yellow floating plastic pipe to mark off safe to swim area)
we jump in start swimmiing as soon as i cant touch- i swim (PROPER OVER HAND STYLE) and as soon as my left arm comes outta water my right side SINKS and i go under.. FAST. i SINK so fast... it was so hard to tread water i bout passed out. i ended up getting there but i would get to a point where i would have to rest.. by.. taking big breath... sink to bottom touch bottom w/ feet and PUSH self up to top to get some more air after bouncing on the bottom 3 or 4 times i could then continue my UNDERWATER Exploration. BTW she beat me by a land slide.. but i finally made it there and she is like RACE U BACK! im like NOOOOOOOOOO i let go of booey rope and sink. I bout ****ING DROWN and started to panic so i had to fallow the rope back to shallow water
WHO OUT THERE KANT SWIM ANY MORE EITHER?!

when I was skinny I was a great swimmer, too. Now I just sink straight down. It's a workout to stay afloat - kinda like a shark you have to keep moving or you die

muscle doesn't float so well. When i was heavier i used to be able to float on the surface of the ocean ...even with some choppy waters. Now I can't even float in a pool , and i'm still far away from skinny.

Naw it's ok I never could swim or float for that matter. Well for more than 30 sec anyway. As soon as I breath out to get another breath I'm already under

ROFL! Funny story Tai..
Granted I've only gained about 30 lbs since I used to swim competitively, I still hit the pool every 2 weeks or so and do as many laps as I can before my body gives out from not being in swimming shape...I usually get about 30-40 laps in. I can still swim pretty well.
Anyway, FYI people with more body fat can swim MUCH easier than people with less, regardless of how large or small you are. I find this evident in the fact that most of the girls I swam with in high school were over 150 lbs...some nearing 200...or more, and they floated on top of the water like you would not believe...

When I go scuba diving I never have to wear a weight belt. If your body fat is low you sink.

One of the reasons not many African Americans make it through the water portion of B.U.D.S. training. That just means the ones who do had to work harder than the others.
Stereotyping is wrong. Even if it is a joke.

if it wasnt for humour, where would we be
So i guess you get upset watching the Chapelle show, Chris Rock or pretty much any other comedian.
because most of what they say is race/stereotyping

...hey I'm not racist but I thought it was kinda funny! None of my black friends ever, EVER with the exception of one could ever or would ever want to swim. i can't tell you how many times I've heard a black person say, "hey, you white people are crazy, you know we(meaning black people) don't swim!!"
the same thing goes for skydiving and bungi-jumping, I can't tell you how many times a black friend has said, "white people are nuts, black people would never jump out of a perfectly good airplane."
personally, I think joking is harmless, and I think that stereotyping can save your life in certain situations - but the fact that a racial joke can cause so much trouble is the problem. The joke itself is not the problem, it is the suppressed anger some people have inside themselves against another people that is the problem.
-You go somewhere like Boulder, CO where everyone is open-minded and people actually get along - black people call white people crackers, whites call blacks n*ggers, but it's all for fun because they get along and have MUTUAL RESPECT for eachother and there is no biggotry.
You go to Atlanta, GA however it will be completely different. If a black guy calls a white guy a cracker, the white guy will probably get scared and walk away quickly. If a white guy calls a black guy a n*gger he will get stomped and/or shot - no joke.
You go to some country town in Mississipi - if a white guy calls a black guy a n*gger, the black guy will probably be quiet and walk away. If a black guy calls a white guy a cracker he will get beat up.
Of the three examples above, (which are based on my real-life experiences) Boulder, CO seems the most advanced culturally. Soon, race will be of no importance. My little brother sees no difference between races except for how "tan" they are. Right now, there is no more issue of race in america - just people who hold on to the past.
