    I've already experienced a family member coming out- I already knew he was gay, so it wasn't a surprise. It just meant we were allowed to talk about it.

    It still is a little bit of a surprise that an MMA competitor would go on record as being gay in a sport that already gets jokes about the homoeroticism in grappling. I'd think that'd take alot of courage from the fighter. I wonder how many fighters would have hangups with competing against a fighter that happened to be gay.

    Good for him on coming out. I think that takes some real guts. MMA is one of, if not the most, macho sports out there and as intolerant and lame as it may be I think a lot of people will not be cool with that. Best of luck to him and what guts to come out in a sport filled with intolerant white trash
