Anyone else have to get a new wardrobe?
Been lifting for years, BUT over the last 9 months really concentrated on going heavy on all my compounds movements for reps. Always had been a 32-33 waist.
Now my work clothes are tight as shit. Think I might have to go to a 34 to be comfortable. I have not put on fat or anything like that either. Just turned 30, wondering if the metabolism is slowing down too.
Anyone else have to get a new wardrobe due to lifting?

If your waists gets bigger it means you have added fat, my friend. Unless we are talking about your thighs meaning your waist is still a 32, but your thighs/quads have gotten to big for that size.
I still hold a 30-31 inch waist (I am 21 though), the perfect body was what they called an "X man" which is your body looked like an X it was narrow at the waist and then shot outward as you went up (Cobra back) and shot apart at the legs ass well (Huge quads).
That's why one of my friends has such a hard time fitting into dress clothes or tuxes because his waist is a 34, but his quads are alot bigger when compared in proportion to his waist so it causes the pants to be to tight in the quad area.Last edited by Immortal Soldier; 07-16-2009 at 05:37 PM.

Yes each season I have to revamp my entire closet. Moved from S-XXL and some XXXL shirts
I can't even wear shirts from the likes of American Eagle or anything of the sort that are labeleb XL or even XXL and they don't go up any higher
Just like pants, gotta get a 36inch waist just so my legs fit through. I can't wear Levi loose fit and definitely not relaxed. I gotta buy like baggy Tommy Hilfingers and stuff

Nope..Rocked a medium at 170lbs and still wear a medium at 240lbs
...As for pants...I always wear a 34 regardless if I am cutting or bulking. I could prob fit in 32 jeans right now but my ass is really big along with my quads, gotta stick with the 34.

It depends on the brands and fit of the clothing.
The Ambercrombie XXL Muscle shirts fit really nice on me.
Most clothing from the Buckle fit good, normally a large, some XL's, I have to try them on before buying. T-shirt, it's a little snug, through the shoulders and arms, and looser from there on down. I feel it's a nice fit and compliments my body well. Normally a Manchester, affliction or BKE T-.
Jeans have to be loose fit, 32 to 34" though I normally opt for a 33 or 34. Normally Big Star, Lucky or BKE.
I'm normally about 200-215lbs. My cloths size does not fluctuate much.
I'm not huge, nor do I care to be uncomfortably large. 6', 210lbs, keeping it under 10% bf. I could not do the work I do, if I was 260lbs.

now

LMAO this happened to me last week..... I was over my friends apartment and he was showing me this new shirt he bought and i asked him if i could try it on..... he said no cuz i'd stretch it out LMAO!
He ended up letting me try it on and i needed him to help me take it off. Funny thing is..... he's 6'4" and his shirts are tight on me.....
My jeans have been a size 34 since sophomore year in highschool. Even when I was a "beanstalk like" 175lbs..... i was a 34 waist.

Nothing is more infuriating than having to re-talior my 4000 dollar Tom Ford business suit.
I seriously thought about never cycling again after that one.

i'm not one to show the hugeness constantly in public, here its different you guys love it. Going out I get annoyed of the attention, sometimes positive is nice but sometimes people talk about working out and try to pick my brain all night.
the worse when its negative or some d-bag realizes he isn't that new-new anymore and tries to get buck. I just like to go out and have a good time not fight people I don't know but all the wannabe MMA guys have to get their anger out cause of how small IT is.
I do like my Xtra Xtra mediums haha jk

I know what you mean..... i'm not your size LOL but still know what you mean. One thing i've noticed...... is being bigger than the "average" person commands a certain ammount of "respect" I don't mean this in an arrogant way..... but in my case - most people have become more friendly. When i see another big dude..... i know he's worked hard and he's dedicated to the sport - common ground. There's no reason to be a dick to anyone for no reason..... most of "those pricks" doit to show their friends they can pick out the biggest guy and not be scared..... tools.....
Reed..... i've said it before..... and im gunna say it again..... YOU'RE AN ANIMAL! Another awesome avatar man.....

Exactly no reason to be a prick to anyone regardless of their size. We are all humans and no different then anyone else. There are a ton of guys bigger than me at the national level and I'm certainly not placing in the top 10 Olympia (not yet at least
) so I gotta just be the best, respectable person I can be regardless of my size.
Being cocky or looking at someone that dresses a bit different, looks different or likes different things and actually thinking you are above that person are the kind of people we need a lot less of. However I do have my times as we all do but I believe I have them a lot less and will learn from those situations to better myself for next time
And thanks for the compliment I really appreciate it, just doing the best I can. Comp time is in 3 weeks so excited then I got one more show the following week

I stopped working out my legs for about 4 months just so I could look semi-normal in jeans. I really don't like having big legs. It's extremely uncomfortable to me and looked ridiculous, imo. Now I workout my legs once every two-three weeks and never go over 405lbs when squatting.

Oh a side note, i went to Six Flags recently. And my i couldnt ride Goliath cause my legs wouldnt fit between the bars.
I was kinda bummed, but felt really big for a while there.

I had 2 suits made a little over a year ago, tailor fit of course. I made them make sure there was room to bring in the waist and to leave extra room for the chest and arms but I know they will need to be let out even more than I had figured before
It's worth it.

Thats ridiculous..... LMAO - wish I had that problem. My legs grow easy but i can't go heavy anymore due to my knee. Almost bone on bone now..... sucks. I've got the stretch marks to prove I had decent size there LOL - the only excercise that doesn't hurt are leg extensions..... hack squats and leg press..... nothing over 250 on hacksquat for me and nothing over 350-400 on leg press
